The Brooklyn teen accused of killing her brother's hamster was sprung from jail Friday - and not a moment too soon.
Two days on Rikers Island made 19-year-old Monique Smith mad enough to commit hamster-cide.
"If I saw a hamster in this filthy place, I'd kill it," the furious teenager told The Daily News in a rambling jailhouse interview before she was released.
"I didn't kill that hamster, but I'd kill one right now because that's what I'm in here for - a b------t rodent."
Smith insisted her 25-year-old brother Aaron was trying to frame her murdering her younger brother's hamster, Sweetie.
"When I get out...when he sees me - its gonna be like he saw a ghost," she said.
When Smith was arrested Tuesday, she was charged with one count of felony animal cruelty, one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty - and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child for plucking it's whiskers out in front her younger siblings.

That's 'cause yur looking at the wrong end!
Richard Gere has to be part of this story somewhere.
No sir, certainly not. There was no such equivalence intended on my part and I sincerely regret any offense you perceived. What, if anything, must I have to do to patch things up with you, Las Vegas Ron, on this matter?
The sadism of this "Monique" Smith is what I found to be of interest and what was the impetus for my response in this thread:
"Police said it was then that [Monique] Smith grabbed Sweetie [the hamster] and slammed it to the ground. She then "attempted to pull the hamster's whiskers out and then crushed the hamster with her hand" in front of three of her younger siblings, court records show."
Go back to DU "nortex"
I have no interest whatsoever in that vile website and my only dealings with it come from the occasional DUmmie threads here on FR.
LOL...in the end, probably!
When that tsunami of insanity seems about to overtake you, please head for Idaho.
I keep expecting this story to turn out to be from The Onion, but it’s sadly not.
I'm afraid you lost me there, Fred.
Ron - the next time I'm in PA I will think twice before veering around a buggy.
The last thing I want is to be the victim of a gallop by shooting!
I think that is Richard Dawson, but I'm not sure.
It’s too late????
I just see you are posting from the New York message board. And yes, I know New York is large. But Monique is a lot nearer to you than she is to me. Just sayin’.
In other news, Richard Gere, when asked about his thoughts on this travesty of justice, could only say that he "was deeply saddened".........
No worries, if'n yur not a hampster!
DU is calling, get lost.
