You could buy all the survival food and gear available/imaginable to prepare for an emergency situation, and yet still not survive an “anarchy environment”.

What skill do you have, that I don't, that we can trade for our mutual benefit?

Because I/anyone could easily take whatever stockpile you have accumulated, yet can't/won't forcibly defend.

Survival under anarchy is many more degrees of difficulty over taking care of yourself and family for a few weeks after a natural disaster, like Katrina and New Orleans.

Texas won't take you in, and there will be no $2000.00 FEMA checks, or hotel vouchers, to tide the murderous moochers over until they find another source of steady income.

” Survival under anarchy is many more degrees of difficulty over taking care of yourself and family for a few weeks after a natural disaster, “

BINGO!!!!

To survive in a true SHTF -> Societal Collapse situation, the worst thing one can do is have a ‘script’ and stick to it - the key is to stay flexible and adaptable to undertake a completely new, and strange, lifestyle.. How will you cope when things you’ve come to take for granted are in short supply, or no longer available, forever??

Are you prepared to improvise answers to such questions as, What am I going to do with my garbage??

What do I do in the case of illness in my family, or party?? Which brings me to The Unmentionable Subject that I’ve never seen explored in these discussions — what do I do with my dead?? (Hint - It’s not a particularly good idea to bury Aunt Tillie too close to your food or water supplies..)

These are just a few of the thousands of issues and situations, large and small, that will come up, and must be solved in order to survive - and ya just can’t think of them all, much less prepare for ‘em as ‘line items’ in your “PLAN”... It’s not how well you prepare for the predictable that will make the difference - it’s how well you’re mentally and emotionally prepared to deal with the daily dangerous surprises....

NoGrayZone,

sarasmoms right. You can get a list of supplies at my about page and lots of other places.

IF we slip into anarchy, you MUST be prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally to do what needs to be done.

Physical training is the easiest.

Would you be able to forcibly turn away friends or family members who have not prepared and are now looking to you for help?

There is also the real possibility of martial law being declared. Would you be willing to forcibly resist the police, or the military?

Scary stuff.
