” Survival under anarchy is many more degrees of difficulty over taking care of yourself and family for a few weeks after a natural disaster, “

BINGO!!!!

To survive in a true SHTF -> Societal Collapse situation, the worst thing one can do is have a ‘script’ and stick to it - the key is to stay flexible and adaptable to undertake a completely new, and strange, lifestyle.. How will you cope when things you’ve come to take for granted are in short supply, or no longer available, forever??

Are you prepared to improvise answers to such questions as, What am I going to do with my garbage??

What do I do in the case of illness in my family, or party?? Which brings me to The Unmentionable Subject that I’ve never seen explored in these discussions — what do I do with my dead?? (Hint - It’s not a particularly good idea to bury Aunt Tillie too close to your food or water supplies..)

These are just a few of the thousands of issues and situations, large and small, that will come up, and must be solved in order to survive - and ya just can’t think of them all, much less prepare for ‘em as ‘line items’ in your “PLAN”... It’s not how well you prepare for the predictable that will make the difference - it’s how well you’re mentally and emotionally prepared to deal with the daily dangerous surprises....

Oh well.
It’s shocking, but true, that many people under 50 in our society do not know how, why and where to dig a pit for human excrement.

The very same people wonder why places like Haiti are perpetual human hellholes.
They absolutely refuse to believe that simply washing your hands before you eat, and always after you wipe your ass, is the best way to prevent deadly diseases.

Life is what it is.

One can extend true compassion, only after their own needs of basic survival have been exceeded.
