"Why are you posting week old news?"

Hi noob -- are you aware that there are moderators and other such folks in this forum who have the job of keeping the board where it ought to be to make the owner happy? If you deem a particular thread has been posted against the guidelines, please feel free to press the "report abuse" button found on every single article and comment. I'm sure they'll LOVE hearing from you!

In the alternative, without waiving the foregoing, you could simply stop opening threads that you know you've already read. Here's another little secret we have here at FR (shhhhhhh!) -- some of us don't live at our computers logged in at FR 24/7/365, and we tend to miss things. It is always nice to be able to catch it the second or third time around. Shouldn't be any skin off your nose.

If none of the above appeals to your delicate sensibilities, you may choose to continue being the SAPP that you are ...

Looking at his short posting history, it appears that the noob has made it his mission at FR to be an unofficial moderator!

Joel Myers (bio) AccuWeather Inc - Founder, Chairman Political Contributions

And, IIRC, Accuweather's a private company.

32 years is long enough. He probably wanted to retire and enjoy life.

After 32 years with the same employer the protocol is to let them know in advance so they can plan accordingly for your vacancy as well as retirement parties, etc.....plus contract obligations if he was under contract.

Unless he did give notice and they chose to keep it a secret up till now, I suspect there was a major falling out between Accu and Joe.......

Check this out, and follow the money....

In Penn State visit, Obama stresses energy efficiency, innovation

I'll bet PSU is involved in Bastardi's leaving.

“He was also known for his disbelief of the theories of global warming.”

Once you put Joe’s resignation into context you just about know what happened.

John Coleman, the founder of the Weather Channel, simply said “The Weather Channel was hijacked.”.

I like Joe. He’s not like every other cookie cutter weatherman. Maybe he’s Going Rogue?

I won't print the rest of what I'm thinking.

I was signed up to receive Joe's blog and videos on AccuWeather which meant I had to subscribe to the Pro version of the site. It was well worth the money even though I never bothered using the other features of the Pro site.

If you read between the lines of his blog the past few months, you could see some increasing friction between him and his employer. Apparently all the other AccuWeather forecasters had their blogs converted to moveable type, which allowed them to post graphics kind of like what we see here on FR. However, for some reason, Joe's blog never got converted and he was confined to text input only so he never got to display graphics like weather maps. This really seemed to bug him.

Then, just a few days before he resigned, he was posting about how he missed his daughter's gymnastic performance at a national competition because he had his head buried in his laptop. Evidently he sat in the stands for hours - after traveling out of state - waiting for her performance and when the moment came, he was absorbed in what he was doing and missed it. He posted a self-pitying diatribe about how could never measure up to his own parents because evidently he is such a workaholic.

That event could have been the trigger for Joe's abrupt resignation but it seems other things were leading up to it. Maybe he just wants to smell the roses for a while.

32 years with the same company is a long time and somebody with Joe's ability could probably make a lot more money by going someplace else. Don't be surprised to see him re-emerge in the spotlight after a short sabbatical - there are rumors he might sign with Fox News. He would be a real asset there.

I unsubscribed from AccuWeather Pro as Joe's blog was my only reason for being there. In the meantime, Joe is active on his Twitter account posting blurbs about current weather events so he hasn't completely given up keeping tabs on the weather.

I notice that the Clinton Climate Initiative is a partner in this particular Treasury-looting adventure.

A peek at their 2009 Form 990 reveals that the Clinton Climate Initiative received $122,550,657 in government grants.

As soon as I saw that the current Grifter-in-Chief had cited the project, the phrase "continuing criminal enterprise" naturally sprang to mind.

Partners in the work are the Clinton Climate Initiative, Rocky Mountain Institute and Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).
