Probably. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the white trash from the black trash.
I live in the South and sometimes when I look around I feel so depressed. There are many people here (particularly rural whites and inner city blacks) who need to hear the Word of the Lord and nobody is telling it to them and making them into moral, free, adult human beings.
I don’t know whether this guy was just a violent thug picking on people he thought would be easy targets or an undiagnosed nutcase flipping out for some reason that nobody will ever know. But I do know that trash is only trash until it is touched by God. These people have not understood that they are human beings made in the Image and Likeness of God and that God’s Son died to save them (that is, bring them out of the darkness and confusion and into the light of faith and understanding and hence make them fully human for eternity).
It’s very tragic that the two people he attacked probably were trying to do this very thing.
What you said is true and needs to be said.
Unfortunately in NJ we just had a pastor arrested in the stabbing of a fellow pastor in her home. Eighteen years ago he had broken into his wife’s apartment and stabbed her.
So even the word of God has trouble getting through to a vengeful and impulsive person.
Amen....your post is one of the most profound posts I have seen on this forum in quite some time. Thank you.
although I do have to add suburban whites, rural blacks, limosine liberals, and many who do sit in pews on Sunday morning, in addition to some who preach the word to the list of those who need to understand what is not being told.
There is a big difference between hearing the word of God, and searching, understanding, and believing in it.
I’m hearing the Father’s heart. Many still need to know their identity in Christ. Thanks for your post.
