Just make sure you can protect yourself at home...

I've got that part covered, but I'm nowhere near ready for an urban combat situation.

This must be how folks in third world countries feel, when they see war coming.

Got any friends or family in the country you could develop an emergency plan with? In Texas, you're probably better off than anyone else outside the Intermountain West. I just wouldn't want to be in a Texas city of any size WTSHTF. Even here in Boise, I'm worried about what will eventually happen when my neighbors get so hungry they turn into Mutant Zombie Bikers (read Lights Out, if you haven't already), so I'm formulating plans to un-ass the AO before that happens.
