MADISON, Wis. Pro-union protesters who had been camping out at the Wisconsin Capitol for 17 days vacated the building peacefully late Thursday after a judge ordered the building closed at night but ruled the state was wrong to restrict access to the building during the day.
With a group hug, and singing "Solidarity Forever," about 50 protesters grabbed their sleeping bags, pillows and drums and left through two rows of Democratic state lawmakers and others who thanked them for their efforts.
Police confirmed that all of the protesters had departed, and that there had been no arrests.

"We decided we didn't want to stoop to the level of Scotty and his minions. We decided it would be best for our image to leave tonight peacefully and come back tomorrow," said Matt Rowe, 21, of Madison, carrying an armful of blankets after he left the building.
Protesters have been demonstrating in and around the Capitol building since Feb. 15 against a bill pushed by the state's new Republican governor, Scott Walker, that would strip most public employees of nearly all of their collective bargaining rights.
Walker contends that the legislation, which also calls for the public employees to cover more of the costs of their pension and health plans, is necessary to balance the state's budget and to give local municipalities the flexibility they need to deal with pending budget cuts.

Keep an eye on your mailbox, Matt.....
When they divide 120 into $7.5 million, your share of the bill for damage to the marble should be coming soon..... (should work out to about $50-$60K for you)
Exactly!
More losers in life’s lottery I suppose. And to think these “people” teach your children. Sheesh! I guess it doesn’t take much intelligence to get an education “degree”.
...and they vote!
This is a parody, right?
So were 50 people the core group of ‘thousands’ who occupied the state house? Or were they the shift who happened to be there at the end play?
I find it hard to believe that anyone stayed in that building continuously. I think they “worked” in shifts, just like good union workers. Where are the “reporters” to tell the true story of the occupation?
Time to call Servicemaster and clean up all the sh!t and trash left by these bums. Need to call the Madison Fire Department to bring in smoke evacuators to get the stink out and air out the capital dome.
Lysol would be a good idea too!.
Say WHAAAAT???
Somehow Governor Walker's minions are lower than the threats, vulgarity, and physical violence shown by the union minions? What kind of twisted universe does this person live in?
Translation: The thugs blinked.
Yeah...right.....
Ahhhhh, yes...Vitriolic(sp?) hate speech???
Or you know what, I guess I am being oxymoronic er somethin’???
Some would say I am just moronic...;-)
The Department of Administration (DOA) in Wisconsin should send the bill to the University of Wisconsin Madison to its Student Union to request money from its student union fees that had a student organization do the protest. The Professor of the student organization(all student groups must have a professor be involved in the student group).
The bill should also be sent to the Wisconsin Teachers Union, SEIU, Obama’s Organizing for America, the US Government Accounting Office whom has oversight of Obama’s expenditures, Trumka of the AFL-CIO, Jesse jackson of the Rainbow Push Coalition, and the Union Group from New York. Plus whatever crackpot organizations that have participated in the 17 days of Protests.
It is sad that the Capitol Police were supporting the Protestors whom remained and last night in Madison a door was left open so 100 more students entered the building. the media has not reported that it was 200 protestors, not 100.
Peacefully would mean they left at the time the Capitol was closed. Disrepecting the Court Order.
Image? This mob is an assault on all of the senses.
Great opportunity to meet some of our staff at Madison High.
Thats Ms Tunnage the PE instructor;
and over there;

Meet Mr Lecher, from the Biology Dept.
And Mr Unbrite our new American History teacher.
Not exactly a union thug vet - eh?
Urine and marble don’t mix.
Where are the reporters to tell the true story of the occupation?
Out covering the evil Tea Partiers. /
Photo #8 includes this protest sign: “MY UTERUS IS NOT OPEN FOR BUSINESS.” Did this child get into the wrong picket line???
Seventeen days of pickets and they changed nothing except their image as union thugs which was enhanced!!
