I don’t have a television and don’t see American Idol, but you must not have received the memo from Eric Holder-up: America is a Chocolate Country of “My People.” Any other outcome is unacceptable.
I missed most of the show tonight.
I did see most of the audition shows.
I am surprised that I do like the additions of Steven Tyler and even what’s her name,,,,Jennifer Lopez. I am sure not a fan of hers musically although a couple movies with her in it were not horrible. I couldn’t even name 2 of her “hit songs”. I like Tyler more now that I’ve seen him. I always loved old Aerosmith songs. Not so much the newer stuff. He’s funny, and entertaining on the show.
I really thought getting rid of Simon would kill the show but, I like it fine without him. I liked his honesty.
Anywho, will watch the show next week and see if I find anyone who stands out as a winner.
PS- if there is such a thing as a FR American Idol ping list and you own it, please add me.
I was just totally disgusted. this season we had more than enough great singers. especially with the girls. why didn’t they just pick the best 12 singers, not 6 and 6..just the best 12. you could of easily had 8 girls and 4 dudes. One of the guys chosen for the top ten just didn’t belong there. Something Smells !!!
I thought they ended up with a pretty good demographic mix that represents the American population.
The wild cards picks won’t go far, though, as they were mostly chosen in a sympathy move by the judges, which reflected their own ethnic preferences. One Hispanic; one black; and one multi-ethnic.
Your kidding right? FReepers do not waste their time on this liberal crap.
I predicted the wild card picks. My wife poo pooed me - until it happened. Goodbye American Idol.
Granted they have a strong crop this year, but I was shocked.
for those of you who watched, can we assume that Casey will be in the final two? and that 15 year old Asian Girl THIA is already putting the other 6 or 7 girls to shame!(not that the other 6 or 7 can’t sing, but Thia just blows them away!!!)
Who cares? Do you buy “people” magazine too? I’m saddened to know we have FReepers that watch that crap.
For a good viewing experience, I highly recommend Glorious Basterds.
Freepers watch tripe like this?
Why?
BTW, I don’t even -have- a television in my part of the house....
I thought Kendra was the best of the female wild card contestants. The girl in the colorful dress, Naima (sp?) also did well in her wild card performance. But I think you’re right about the other black wild card girl. I believe she was probably chosen over Kendra because she’s black.
Actually, I’m more annoyed by the Hispanic girl who sang in Spanish and keeps crowing and gloating about “Latino” this and “Latino” that, “I’m going to be the first Latina Idol,” etc. Her mom was shown in the audience holding a Mexican flag. The fine print on the credits says that American Idol reserves the right to pick the winner if the vote is close. I have a hunch the vote was close between the Latina girl and someone else, and the producers chose her for her race. Must be PC, you know, and get every race represented! It’s really getting silly, all this bean counting, but everybody knows it’s happening.
Overall, I'm a happy camper.
Your first mistake. There are hundreds of great books you haven't read. Why?
I think the right people were selected as finalists. I might have traded Stefano for Jovany, but even that would have been a close call. I don’t think any of the wildcard picks have a realistic shot at winning.
That was my first thought.
in my opinion, only one of the female singers who did not make it to the final 12 actually deserves to be there... of the female wild card picks, i think the judges chose the best ones... especially Ashton... i am glad she is a final contestant... i do think that they should have gone with all three girls from the wild card round and ditched the one guy they chose from the wild card... my faves made it... Thia (she’s a Central Valley CA gal—lives 5 miles from where i live)... Lauren Alaina and Ashton Jones... of the guys i like Casey Abrams and Paul McDonald... Jacob Lusk is really good, but he cries too much for my taste...
All those who never watched American Idol please raise their hand.
HAND RAISED here
The first of the affirmative action picks got the old heave ho. The libs must be scratching their collective heads.
