In an interview with NBCs Jeff Rossen that aired on TODAY Monday morning, Charlie Sheen, the combative star of long-running hit Two and a Half Men, demanded a raise from approximately $2 million to $3 million per episode to come back to the set of the show. CBS and Warner Bros. Television have currently halted production for the shows ninth season in the wake of Sheens very public rants against Men creator Chuck Lorre and Alcoholics Anonymous.
Im not angry, Im passionate, Sheen told Rossen. Its everybody thinks I should be begging for my job back, and Im just going to forewarn them that its everybody else thats going to be begging me for their job back.
Though he claimed he has been swamped with offers for movies, Sheen said: I am a man of my word, so I will finish the TV show. Ill even do season 10, but at this point, [because of] psychological distress, oh, my God, its 3 mil an episode.

He deserves the raise. The networks make so much money off the backs of guys like these. Actors and musicians always get ripped off by networks trust me.
His Father has been out there trying to get his Son to go get help. It’s virtually impossible to get someone to rehab if they don’t want to go...especially if they’re rich and famous. Actually, I believe Martin tried to get a court to give him control of his son’s money...but no go. Charlie Sheen is not at that point...yet.
He gets 1.8 mil per episode for playing "Let's pretend" like kindergartners. He isn't getting ripped off.
Since when is it American to bestow compassion according to the income of the recipient? That's precisely what all socialists since Marx have always taught: people are divided into classes and, whereas some deserve help and compassion, others deserve hatred. That is what Muslims believe as well: it is OK to deceive a Christian or a Jew but not OK to deceive another Muslim.
In Judeo-Christian morality, we don't think that judgment of another in matters unrelated to economics depend on his income. How is being hit by a car hurt any less if you have millions in the bank?
As Bennett said in mid-1990s, "While the majority of people in this country identify themselves as Christians, they no longer guide themselves by Christian principles in their daily lives." You prove him right. And prove also how class deeply class envy, which Marx and Lenin expended so much energy to ignite, permeated the society: what even you, a conservative, thinks of others depends on how much money they make.
When conservatives don't even notice how far away they have moved from traditional American principles, is there any wonder that we have a commie in the White House?

But in that case, what would be the point of it all?

He sure is on a "buttered" slide. I did read that Denise Richards went to court to keep him away from their daughters. Don't know if she won.
Too bad Martin can't get him committed. I believe Charlie is dangerous.
Fixed it.
Sorry if I did not make it clear in the previous post: I never suggested that one should have compassion to this guy. What I did object to is your finding him “entertaining.” That is much farther than lack of compassion.
Being on sets is long grueling work believe it or not. Again, his bosses get a lot more for doing very little. Same as ball players. If the team is going to reap that much dough the engines that drive it may as well reap too.
Hollywood is overpaid. They are bottom feeders calling themselves artists. Look at their lives. And their politics.
Absolutely not. Child Services should remove the children to safety immediately - but they won't because Charlie would have 100 lawyers all over them in a heartbeat.
That's why I said only his father can intervene. Or the childrens mother. Richards filed in court to keep him away from their daughters.
I suppose the reason why a lot of people might not be sympathetic with a rich person going off the rails like this is that there are those of us who are lesser mortals who have to worry about money and paying bills and other stuff that people living in the Hollywood bubble don’t have to worry about.
Personally, I can kind of understand junkies in ghettos who shoot up heroin because they grew up in a life of poverty crime, sexual abuse etc and use drugs as a means of escape from their crappy lives, but what is the excuse of a man who has grown up with privileges and riches from sinking so far into the gutter?
I agree but while they are all being overpaid the people who we actually tune in for may as well get a proportional cut.
I don’t have TV and haven’t seen a movie in a long time. My only exception is the Jesse Stone series and some westerns on DVD.
Martin Sheens says “That’s My Boy! ...Taught him everything he knows!”
This is a stunt for ratings, plain and simple. I actually talked to many people that watched his show for the first time after this all started. People that don’t mind or even like his antics will love the show. He plays “himself” so this is like free advertising.
Lots of sick people encouraging him will make millions/billions? while he and those that actually care about him will suffer once the high wears off.
The guy already consumes as much crack and fake women as his body can physically handle. When “chemical happiness” (including empty sex) eclipses any real happiness in your life, you always need more to stay happy. Charlie is pretty close to the ceiling.
I thought politicians were spacy; but this guy seems to be winning the award.
