Yes, one of the great beauties of the Golden Age.
As a boy (Christian Bale) he made a fantastic Treasure Island with Charlton Heston. You can watch it by bits on Youtube, but they will not release a DVD. It’s the best ever made, IMHO. And lots of great Irish music. And an incredible “Billy Bones” by Oliver Reed.
It’s on my list of top ten movies ever.

Yes. I know. Thanks.
I didn’t have the last up to the minute list.
Thanks for this entertaining thread for us movie nuts.
It’s been fun.

Just in case anyone is interested. The first part of “Treasure Island”.
I completely understand... I feel the same.
Love Randy... short people... I love LA.... songs bring back memories when we were young and pretty silly... good to be that sometimes. My Sweet B...played gigs in the Southbay and Newman tunes were part of the set...

Bale was in Spielberg’s “Empire of the Sun” when he was 13 yrs old.
Great movie, I like Bale’s work a lot.
Where are they getting all the feathers for these gowns?
That bothers me.
Idiots almost wiped out certain bird species in the 1800’s to use on ladies hats, etc.
For posting the funny one-liner that is the most mild criticism of the Liberal evening that one could make:
“Could you imagine what the reaction from the Left would be if Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld handed each other awards all night?”
And because I posted that you, say I should “Go to Hell”.
Seek help dude.
No seriously, seek help.
Today.
I admit my comments were a bit nasty on this thread tonight. I actually have an immediate family member who lives in LA and works in the TV/film industry in Hollywood. He says it's a fact that if you're conservative, you'd better keep that hidden if you want to work in The Industry.
I know there are a lot of good and talented people there, but I am SO sick of the liberalism that's been oozing out of Hollywood, especially over the past 10 years or so. The hate-America, hate-the-military, hate Republicans, Christian conservatives and George W. Bush, and in-your-face gay agenda has really soured me on a once proud and glamorous industry. If Hollywood starts producing some more pro-America, pro-family, pro-capitalist products, then, yeah... I'll be among the first to stand up and cheer: "Hooray for Hollywood!"
Oh wait that was last years Best Picture winner.
Plot
Chicken feathers????
Who won that?
I was actually glad that HURT LOCKER won last year rather than AVATAR...
I have to say that last year’s show was more interesting...
HURT LOCKER vs AVATAR...Cameroon vs his ex-wife...I was also interested in seeing if Sandra Bullock won the award...
Did you notice that at least two guys, who won awards Sunday night, emphasized that they use union workers in their speeches? I really don’t think Gov. Scott Walker would care about that one way or the other...
About the speech for the Best Picture Award...One of the producers, for THE KING’S SPEECH, mentioned his boyfriend...Whatever...At least, the guy didn’t give a lecture on gay marriage...Unlike Sean Penn, who scolded people who didn’t support gay marriage...
About Melissa Leo...In clips of THE FIGHTER, she just didn’t look attractive at all...But, on Sunday night, she looked great...
About the clip of Obama...It was not too long...Whatever...I am sure that at least 50% of Oscar viewers didn’t mind watching him on TV...
It was nice to see Sandra Bullock presenting the award...
I don’t think Franco and Hathaway should be asked back...
I can almost guarantee you that if not next year, it will be the big winner the year after that.
About the unions...
Would a hostage be put on a video bad mouthing the cause of his captors?
I can almost guarantee you that if not next year, it will be the big winner the year after that.
BINGO. It's gonna happen... mark yours and my words.
And it will win an Oscar for Best Picture.
