During a power outage it has a use as long as it’s not a cordless. You can’t charge cellphones in a power outage.

A well prepared person knows what they need to do... charge in a car, have a solar charger for phones... rig up a small wind generator to charge a 12 volt battery... lot’s of things can be done to charge cell phones in the absence of utility line power.

I have a solar charger, and can use the car charger as well.

That's what car chargers are for.

You can if you have a generator! ;-)

My area had Comcast’s first telephone service some time back. We had a 24 hour power outage - they came around and dropped off generators next to the phone polls to keep the phone (and cable) service up. Kind of a drag to have to listen to the generator all night - but I did have phone service ;-)
