The Economist Intelligence Unit has identified the most livable cities in the world. Three of them are in Canada. Four are in Australia. There's also one in New Zealand.
In fact, the EIU's list has hardly changed at all since last year, so there's little doubt that these are the world's best cities.
Cities were ranked on 30 criteria involving health care, stability, culture, environment, education and infrastructure.

Eight of ten belong to the Anglosphere.
Surprised?
I am planning on an extended working vacation to Victoria, AUS this next winter. I was dismayed to find though it would cost too much money to bring along my motorcycle and that part of the land of Oz has awesome roads for touring.
There has been a recent demand for anyone in the concrete business, especially mixer drivers for rebuilding in New Zealand.
Parts of Western Europe are still nice. USA? Maybe a few smaller cities in places like Boise, ID. The rest of most cities in the USA are total crap.
I'd like to know how that rating is scored. Is it the best healthcare or the most socialized ("free") healthcare - you know, the kind where you have to fly to NYC if you get seriously sick.
I used to go to Perth when I was in the lobstah importing biz, and the locals claimed it was so crime-free because there was nowhere to run.....it’s pretty darned isolated.

Australia is becoming VERY EXPENSIVE for Americans. Main reason -— USD DEVALUATION.
Since Australia sells commodities to China and India ( the demand from these countries are skyrocketing ), and since China is actively suppressing the revaluation of their currency, the Aussie Dollar has become a proxy for the Chinese Yuan.
The Aussie Dollar to USD ratio has been historically averaging 0.75 US cents to 1 Aussie. The two currencies are now AT PARITY today.
The three strongest currencies in the world today : Aussie, Canadian and Swiss.
I kept thinking, "Where are the guns?" Then I remembered their draconian gun laws.
I have a Glock 19 and a Sig 239 that I alternate re CCW and keep them in my dresser next to the bed. I also have a Remington HD 870 shotgun hidden under a robe hanging next to the bed.
Unless these so-called Golden Cities have very generous gun laws, they're not very "Golden" in my book.
Oh plenty do indeed have guns. They just dont tell the pigs and politicians about where they store them.
The one thing that Canucks will never, ever have, is good internet infrastructure. I lived there for ten years and it has gotten worse and worse.
