5/24/59 "The Cask of Death Matter" Matter #640 Bob Bailey, Harry Bartell (Harry Branson), Forrest Lewis (Mr. Hurley), Bartlett Robinson, Parley Baer, Marvin Miller (Edward Alden Pouley) ; Writer/Producer/Director - Jack Johnstone ; Announcer - Dan Cubberly ; Expense Account Total = $101.20 CBS ; Talking about this episode at the end of the show last week, Johnny signed off saying, "Well, I suggest you read the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, then, join us, won't you?" Harry "Old Silver Sides" Branson of Philadelphia Mutual Liability and Casualty Company, Walnut Street, Philadelphia, has a case for Johnny involving several of his very important clients. Some of them mysteriously disappeared years ago. At the end of seven years the missing are presumed dead and benefits are released to their beneficiaries. Wilbert Davis of Goshenville, Pennsylvania was the first of eight of these mysterious disappearances and Charles Moody of Kirkwood, New Jersey was the last just about a month ago. All were in their 60s and were either widowers or bachelors. Dollar goes to Kirkwood and speaks with the local policeman, lawyer, and storekeeper Mr. Hurley. He says that Moody just took a bus to Philadelphia and never came back. The beneficiary was nephew in California. Moody willed his wine cellar to a man living in a big mansion in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Edward Alden Pouley. In another town he speaks to a man who gives him details on another missing man, Mr. Frederick Burton, who also had a wine cellar that was willed to Pouley. He also gets the name of another man, Frederick W. Turner, who is still alive and in the same wine connoisseur club, The Order of Epicures. Dollar goes to see Mr. Pouley who is a bit off his rocker. Proud of his initials being the same as Edgar Allen Poe. Johnny has brought a bottle of rare wine, and Pouley says he must have it. He offers Dollar some Amontillado and leads him down a dark, dank passageway. On the way he asks Dollar if he is a mason, and he pulls out a trowel. He admits that he bricked in the other eight men. Johnny overpowers him. (19:30)

Evening, Vision.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
