Ollie Matson, NFL Hall of Famer from S.F., dies

Ollie Matson, a Hall of Fame football player from San Francisco who became as well known for one game he did not play as for those he did, died Saturday in Los Angeles. He was 80.

His team wasn’t invited to a bowl game because he was black. 1951. Thank God things are different today.
