I just listened to an mp3 of a person from Dadeville, AL who claimed he had poisoned the oaks in retalliation for us supposed celebrating the death of Bear Bryant. He did it after the Iron Bowl this year.

Unbelievable! I do not believe that this person is a Bama grad. I don't think he is even really a Bama fan or supporter. I think he is just an Auburn hater because he is a hateful individual.

As for us celebrating when the Bear died? I don't think so. I don't remember anything done one way or another, but we would definitely NOT have celebrated. If we did, I am very very sorry.

You seem to be a classy individual. I am sorry about what happened to the trees. The culprit should be caught and punished just as the culprit who vandalized Coach Saban’s lake house should be punished. I admit I have bitter feelings toward auburn fans because of my experiences with them. I remember the jublilation & the celebrations after the death of Coach Bryant. I think the internet has ramped up the hatred between the fanbases.

I read that students that were at Auburn when the Bear retired said that there was a celebration when he retired...not when he died. That makes a lot more sense. Dye was there by then and Auburn was beginning to win against Alabama. The Bear had our number.

Did Auburn celebrate when Bear died? NO! The following article shows the Auburn coaches and football players grieving over his death. I read a statement by one Auburn graduate that said he remembered the day and walked right by the area and there was no celebration or rolling of the trees.
