The longer a person is sober the less chemically dependent they are. The less chemically dependent they become, the less addicted they are. Therefore, a person who is no longer chemically dependent through prolonged total abstinence is no longer an addict. However, former addicts sometimes retain their addictive tendencies throughout periods of sobriety and will sometimes laspe back into an addiction and chemical dependency.

Tell me where that logic is flawed without using the psych-babble of the pop-psychology of the day.

Not all people are powerless to the extent that chemical dependency is inescapable and that addiction is “forever”.
