Tammy Bruce, columnist, radio host & conservative gay activist, announced on her website today that she will resign her position as advisory board member to GoProud.
I want to let you know that after being a supporter and serving as Chair of the Advisory Board since May of 2010, I gave Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia my resignation Saturday night. If you search GOProud here at the blog youll see the affection with which Ive held both Chris and Jimmy, and I wish them well.
I spoke with Tammy at the CPAC convention and when asked for comment on the reason for her departure she had no comment except to reiterate her position from the website that she, looks forward to working with conservatives across the spectrum on issues that matter to all of us.

No actual conservative would be involved with GOProud as their legislatve agenda is 90% “gay” nazi-HUGE government agenda.
How many members in GOProud? It is not surprising that they do not disclose them. I bet they are not a lot more numerous than those listed at their website.
Gays are not the new Blacks. They cannot maintain without dispute that they were born that way.
This is pretty much my point. However, folks have been using tolerance as a synonym for acceptance, which is not and should not be. Folks who push a black and white world say tolerance is acceptance because they feel that lines need to be drawn that cannot be crossed. Those that see the world as only shades of gray say the same, but in this case, they say attempting to draw and hold any line is useless.
Toleration is hard, it takes effort and involves risk that what is being tolerated might increase and lead to horrible consequences. The folks who fought for GOProud to be included in the CPAC this year felt the sting of that lash, as the catty and viscous nature and the plainly "gay" rights bent of this bunch was elevated to center stage so that folks could tell these weren't conservatives, but instead folks hoping to co-op the conservative movement.
Yet the nature of politics is to provide an open door for all, and assure the rights and assist in the right of each to pursue their own aspirations even if we do not agree with them, perhaps especially when we don't agree. Palin made this clear that it is a core American value that has been the source of much pain, but just like tolerance, it has its rewards that are commensurate with the cost.
The power of the Judaeo-Christian values that underlay Western Civilization is that we have some time tested worthy standards that have also been able to respond to the questions posed by our age and any other. This value set rejects "gay" relationships between men strongly, and this is at odds with many of the cultures that surrounded though this seems uncommon now, in the ancient world, gay relationships were normal. We also remember these times for their decadence, corruption, and lack of concern for the value of human life or women for that matter. Faith in God celebrates life and all that would reject life is at odds with this core teaching.
This is how we can tell that Islam is at odds with the very God they purport to worship. In that this faith calls on people to celebrate death, and impress the pain of death on those who do not submit to it. This is the way of intolerance and tyranny. This leads to a peace of sorts, that of unending oppression, misery and the depredation of the human spirit such that life only grinds on to spite those who oppress them. But, in the dark ages of Western Civilization people were similarly oppressed, so we must understand that it is not necessarily the faith, but rather how it is interpreted that either supports or opposes the freedom of the spirit of men and their ability to work together for common goals by pursuing their own selfish ends.
Only in America, did people attempt a system for governance by "flawed" people, accepting human nature and attempting to offset its worst aspects by designing a system that played various interests against each other to assure that evil ends always have a powerful opponent that can oppose and expose these actions and then call for a return to the correct path. Our Constitution tolerates evil people, it doesn't accept them. It assumes they will always exist and then puts in place a means for folks to keep their freedoms if they are vigilant.
This is the price of tolerance, the need to be vigilant and to be prepared to become intolerant when evil inclination turns to evil deeds.
And?
She can live her faith til the cows come home. That's just dandy. GWB was a man of great faith as well. As is Joe Lieberman, Dan Coates, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, and countless others. But I got news for you, living her faith doesn't make Palin a conservative, nor does it prevent her inexplicable liberal, confused positions.
A neighbor of ours has twin boys. While she was still single, she formed a relationship with a man for the purpose of becoming pregnant. She is now “married” to a woman, and they are raising the two boys.
How often have we seen that story of married men and women “coming out” after being married with children? It often happens around middle age.
ugh. We have a bunch like that across the street. They move in together and change “partners” all the time.
You never know who will be living there.
The sad part of that story I was telling is that of the wife and kids. Last I heard they changed their last names and moved out of state.
And this was another one of those middle age happenings. The kids were teens.
I hear you. It’s very sad.
I have news for you, there isn't a human alive that could satisfy your desire for clarity. The frank fact of it is that only folks whom you don't know are acceptable to you.
Your biggest problem is that you impute positions to people that they don't actually have, and then get all worked up and trash them about this non-sense.
Sarah Palin has very strong Libertarian tendencies, but this is because she believes in "Classical Liberalism" the same "Liberal" ideals that animated the Founders and Reagan for that matter.
She has a few times agreed with ideas and policies that are not in accord with this, most especially her praise of Title IX which she credits for giving her the opportunity to play Basketball, but which has also been used to deny access to sports for many young men who would otherwise benefit if a quota system wasn't being imposed. We all have our blind spots.
Sarah is not blind about the need for supporting and encouraging the formation of stable families, or the value of a moral education, or the need for a strong defense in a dangerous world.
Just like in the tired arguments you made about Carly Fiorina, you just don't get it. You want someone perfect and then trash folks are decent wishing for those who are not going to be an available choice. As I said before, this is not your "A" game. It is just a wild unsubstantiated statement. Worse, you have included a mostly rogues gallery of hypocrites as examples of people who observe their faith and say Sarah Palin is the same. Where is the proof? No where, if it existed, the lamestream press would have trotted it out like the proverbial bloody shirt endlessly and forever.
This is the sort of statement that brings people to thoughts of banning you.
That's a crock of shiite.
Mmmm.. lets examine the evidence you gave for this statement, ah yes, none as usual.
Unlike normal people, male homosexuals view everything through the prism of their sexual obsession. What else could motivate people to have unprotected sex with total strangers in a public restroom ?
I knew a homosexual here who had been previously married, had two children, and threw them over to follow his penis. He had numerous "boyfriends", all of whom he cheated on, and eventually died from AIDS.
I knew another in Seattle who'd been in a relationship with his partner for over 15 years. He also cheated on his partner, keeping that quiet. His partner died of AIDS somewhat later.
Male homosexuals have an almost insatiable sex drive (not that unusual for a male) but have neither learned to control it, or direct it properly towards women. They prefer the company of like minded men, who are much easier to obtain sex from.
We went to a TEA Party in Tucson and I heard that Tammy Bruce was going to be the keynote speaker. I thought, “Oh Lord, we’ll get the homo agenda, too.”
I couldn’t have been more wrong. She gave a wonderful speech, laying out what are problems and offering solutions to them. Never mentioned that she was a lesbian.
If she’s always like that, I approve heartily!
Tammy’s got one of the best talk shows ever! Like Sarah, she isn’t afraid to speak out against the libs.
They are probably holding out for Ann Coulter.
Why should he be banned? For being too conservative? It's not like he supports Mitt Romney over Palin. He supports Micehele Bachmann.
You're not realizing that many conservatives have reservations about Palin and, specifically, her ability to be beat Obama?
Ping
Not consistent is your adherence to the truth in your narrative.
The only inconsistency is based upon your own delusion.
Once you have a clearer view of the truth, the contradiction should disappear.
Way To go, Tammy! She’s a conservative with no adjective before it!
That was sure easy for ole Tammy now wasn’t it? She was a member of the advisory board and had to be advising the activists.
This same game was played with Carley Fiorina. She was pro choice and by golly, by election time she was pro life.
So funny.
