The largely expat gallery had flocked to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic to see Woods win for the first time in more than a year. Instead, what they got for their money was an exhibition of spitting by Woods that might yet receive a rebuke from the European Tour to match that of Sky commentator Ewen Murray, who gave him both barrels on air.

Jack finished 2nd 19 times in Majors. So his 1-2 finishes put him at 37
Disagree with HT’s easy-to-say line that competition is better now. Like Jim Thorpe and Jim Brown being the best RBs of all time, there are those who say (”argue”) that today’s backs are better because of better defenses, better this or that. Besides, Tiger is imploding. His search for low hanging fruit, i.e. # of Majors wins, is pathetic.
In any event, Tiger will never reach the character quotient Jack had and which Earle wished for his son to have.

Alas... On this now 2nd infamous day for Tiger, his church, and Sainthood is forever gone.
http://www.tigerwoodsisgod.com is officially extinct.
In the 1970’s, Nicklaus was top 10 in both driving distance AND accuracy.
His short game was mediocre by tour standards even then, but when he had his A game, it didn’t matter
Current tour, no-one is even close to top 10 in both distance and accuracy.
In contrast, Woods = no class on the way up; no class on the way down.
Out of 163 starts as compared to Woods' 53 starts - over three times as many........But we're talking about wins, not runners up..........nobody gives a rip about the second, third, fourth or fifth place golfers because in the grand scheme of things, they're just the losers.
There are a lot of younger players now who have no fear of him, hit it farther than him and have good short games/putting.
The future was really at the PGA last year which was won by very long Dustin Johnson. The problem is he grounded his club is supposed bunker that was filled with fans.
It came down to even longer Bubba Watson versus very precise Martin Kaymer who can hit it far. They were being chased by 21 year old Rory McIlroy who is longer than Tiger.
Throw in 17 year old Matteo Mannesero who has already won a pro event and who made the cut at The British Open in 2009 (Tiger didn’t) at 16 and then at The Masters at 16.
Tiger has a bum knee too. I could almost forgive him globally humiliating his wife and being a Charley Sheen/Vick/Mike Tyson of golf but he keeps swearing, throwing clubs and acts like an arse.
In my book, Jack is probably the best and if Hogan had not been in a head on collision with a Greyhound bus, he would have been the best. Hogan with a destroyed body came back and won tourneys. Probably one of the greatest come backs in history.
I think Palmer still cuts Tiger some slack but Jack appears to avoid him now.
LOL!
There is a raging battle over at GolfWrx. The hard core Tiger fan boys are like Obama voters. He could kill someone and they would rationalize it.
What really irks me is the media’s double standard and fawning over him. The PGA bending over backwards for him. His fan boys saying he made golf, he is bigger than golf, golf would be nothing without him.
He has disgraced golf and lowered the standards and his mixed race is not the issue. Other golfers do anything wrong and they are pilloried by the media and PGA.
A young golfer the week before last said Tiger in the final round MAY have been going through the motions because he had no chance of winning. Something like that but far more innocent because the dumb reporter asked him about Tiger. The kid was attacked, had to apologize for fear the PGA might ban him or something it was insane.
At the start of 2010, Mickelson question the arbitrary rules by the USGA on wedges and allowing an old Ping wedge but banning newer wedges with deeper grooves. The (liberal) sports media made him out to be public enemy number one. It was insane. The liberal sports media treats Woods like Obama and Mickelseon like Palin.
I would be disqualified in the parking lot.
Thanks for that HT. In my view, posts like his make the forum look bad, and I don’t like that one bit.
We’re supposed to gravitate toward truth. Franzie, not so much. Opinion is one thing, making things up is another.
