Does anybody else refuse to plug themselves in any more then just phone calls with their cell phones? I have a very bottom line cell with no text, pic sharing, video games, Internet, etc.

I believe in having no less than 4 to 6 inexpensive Tracfones on hand. Use them or sell them to someone after a year as they do become obsolete.
I do NOT believe in becoming psychologically attached to product that many people are almost treating as living things or objects of a divine nature and you are their servants.
A really clever virus, an EMP burts or a Presidential decision will shut them down. I do use one, I might actually get a call or make one maybe twice a week.
Its just a communication tool, its also enjoying its golden years, but its not a new religion. Its not a status symbol to me.
Proud to say I can live without a smartphone.

Got an iPhone4 for Christmas and love it. The other day I was on the phone with my brother-in-law for quite a while. During the call I was able to answer texts from my daughter and to look up a TV channel on the TV Guide app. (My understanding is the Verizon version won't let you do that.) Also have:
- Multiple apps for navigating NYC (maps, subways, buses, NJT trains, restaurants, parking garages, and so on.
- App versions of ZocDoc, Facebook, Google, GMail, Craigslist, MoviePhone, Yahoo mail, etc.
- An RSS reader to read articles from roughly 20 sites without having to browse them.
- News apps to Fox News, AP Mobile, and WSJ.
- A language translator, dictionary, and online version of the CIA World Fact Book.
- App to track jogging distances, times, etc.
- Have used the phone as a level a couple of times and as a flashlight once.
- Have an app to make custom ringtones.
On New Years Eve, we were sitting for about 20 minutes waiting for a movie to start and I played a couple of games of chess.
