Yep. You can drive down the highways of Tennessee and if you keep your eyes peeled, you will see where people raise the fighting cocks because they are all in little cages separated from each other. A friend’s dad used to raise them and I would occasionally watch when he fought them against other breeder’s roosters.

A few years ago on this same topic somebody posted a pic of Colonel Sanders holding a huge KFC bucket with the caption,
“Try Our Bucket-O-Loser Special!”
Anyway, just thought of something outside of all the emotional arguments pro and con cockfighting: are the winning gamecocks allowed to fertilize the hens and thus improve the gene pool? This dumb question was probably answered 4,000 or so years ago.
Maybe it’s not all about cruelty and betting, just sayin’.
