DELANO, Calif. (AP) -- A California man attending a cockfight has died after being stabbed in the leg by a bird that had a knife attached to its own limb.
The Kern County coroner says 35-year-old Jose Luis Ochoa was declared dead at a hospital about two hours after he suffered the injury in neighboring Tulare County on Jan. 30.

I think I had heard of doing this from the Dominicans and Puerto Ricans here in New York - attaching a straight-razor blade to the rooster’s feet to make it a bloodier spectacle. Disgusting, but that’s the benefit of diversity and multiculturalism - imports from their homes like that and the equivalence of all cultural values. Don’t expect much to change soon - dogfighting is more horrific even and the basketball-player-in-chief was all praise for quick and complete rehabilitation or exoneration for one famous offender, Vick.
Cockfights must not be much fun if the birds fight only with their natural weapons.
And in a typical barnyard scrap for dominance, doesn’t the loser break and run long before one of them dies?
