Good God...the Black Eyed Peas just plain - SUCK!!
Clearly something Øbozo might enjoy!
I don’t like a lot of modern music. I am not a fan of the Peas, but their music sells. Amazing, to me, but it does.
I know a little about performing, and it seemed to me the sound guy from the show really did a bad job. Probably a football field doesn’t have the best acoustics, but I don’t think the performers heard a thing on that stage. There’s a certain “sound” bands have when they aren’t hearing themselves.
Yodeling? Is that the term?
Actually I like real yodeling. But the “singing” they do nowadays is just awful. I say they sound like goats.
A hundred years from now, people will view it as an unfortunate period in music history. And I will bet you anything that the histrionics the black “rappers” portray will be viewed like we view the old blackface comedies now - they will be thought of as “clownish” manners that hold blacks up to ridicule.
I won’t be around in a hundred years to see if my theory is correct, I guess.
There you go. Anyone of those would be great and I could come up with 100 more and you could come up with another 100 more.
The Decemberists were #1 last week. Iron & Wine are #2 this week. I think it should be a contest. Whoever has the highest selling record that week gets to play the Super Bowl.
It would be pretty huge. Almost every band would want that gig. And all they have to do to get it is have the top album.
And they would. They would release new material, that more people would buy, because their purchase goes not only to a record company, but towards a concrete goal that the fan wants the band to achieve. It would be massive. It would have a measurable positive effect on record sales for the year.
Another way to go is for the NFL to just say to Pitchfork - pick 4 good bands and they each play a song. That would just be a vast improvement. All Tomorrow’s Parties would be excellent.
I know I am an old fossil, but once there was this guy named John Phillip Sousa, whose name and music will be around long after no one knows who the Black Eyed Peas were.
Hildy, I don’t think the audio was bad - the problem is the Black Eyed Peas were not in the studio so their real voices could not be manipulated by the sound man. I do have some BEP in my music repertoire, but I do acknowledge that their music is studio enhanced. To be honest, I wasn’t impressed with the show - they could have put the “Blue Men” up there and they would have entertained me the same. Perhaps they should stick with country musicians who seem to be able to pull off a “live show”. I’m not a country fan, but it seems these days it is the genre that has talent.

Blue Man Group would be an awesome halftime show.
I don't know what audience they were aiming at, but I know it wasn't me. Screw the NFL.
I can hardly wait to hear what Greg Gutfeld has to say. He already hates The BEPs.
Just awful but strangely compelling to watch.
The decline of our culture on display.
I saw good choreography with terrible “music.”
Where did they get the Slash robot and why?
That was crap.
I’m 43.
But mostly really really funny. Fergie was terrible during Sweet Child o Mine. Why were they dressed like that. Did I miss the part where they explained that? Just awful.
They were dressed like that...because that’s the way they always dress! Speaking of dress...why on earth were both teams wearing yellow pants...I found that really disconcerting.
The audio was terrible. Heads will roll...as they say!!!!

If I’m not wrong, isn’t the Black Eyed Peas on the radio A LOT? I don’t think that the Black Eyed Peas really sell a lot of Albums. But, I guess after hearing a song on the radio 100 times, people fell compelled to download the single.
Really? Fergie is going to look like that shopping at the supermarket?
That’s how they always dress when they PERFORM. Is that better???? LOL. In fact, they were pretty tame, I’ve seen them in a lot worse...I know it’s hard to believe.
I stand corrected. Haaahaaahaaaa.......
