We used to do this trick with our dogs all the time. Lights blinking and horn honking from the remote locks. They never figured it out. They are dogs, they aren't supposed to.

Just like laser pointers. God made dogs so they'd go crazy over them, but didn't giv'em the brains to figure out that the humans are just yankin' their chains.

Laser pointers are great too. Our dogs are outside dogs, so they don't get to play with the laser pointers much.

Now, the cats, they love it.

BTW, if you want to have real fun with the laser pointer, even when you aren't using it, make the red dot always appear coming out from under the same piece of furniture, and when you're finished with it, run the red dot back under the same piece of furniture.

Our cats sometimes sit in front of this one dresser in the bedroom for hours, looking underneath it. That's where the red dot lives.
