I own(ed) a 2005 Toyota Corolla, that I bought new in 2005. I had 100,000 trouble free miles on it, it was a stick shift and the sticker said 36/42 mpg. and it got that and better up until two weeks ago when my son totaled it. All I ever did to it was regular maintenance, new tires, oil changes, new wiper blades and that's it.
I will be buying a 2011 car in the next few days and am seriously considering a new Camry, loaded with stuff for $19,990.
Anybody here have one? Anything to say about them, negative or positive?
We have always been pleased with VWs. We had Rabbits then Jettas. Currently I have a Mitsubishi convertible, but my next car will be a Passat. No problems with the Mitsubishi but I really like VWs.
Glad to hear your son wasn’t injured!
That’s my greatest fear—that someone will bash my V-6 ‘97 Camry and I’ll get peanuts for it. It’s still a new car to me :). Only has 89,000 miles because we use my husband’s 4 cylinder Camry for distance driving. But I often drove my Camry from Philly to Cleveland on 1 tank of gas, including in the summer with a/c. This is our 4th Camry and we wouldn’t buy anything else. Only sold my first one—over 120,000 miles—because my husband was tired of looking at it in the driveway!
You must live in Massachusetts!
I’d never driven a VW until about three years ago but, except for the New Beetle abomination, I really like them. Some of the best thought out interiors in the business.
cheers
Jim
I love my Passat that’s for sure....
I agree.
