What Exactly Are The Ramifications of Egypt's Govt. Falling? (vanity)
1/30/11

Posted on 01/30/2011 3:29:03 PM PST by pillut48

Could FReepers please give me the bullet points/bottom line of the consequences to the US should/when Egypt's falls to these protesting "revolutionaries"? I've been out of town without Internet access the past few days...seen only snippets of reports here and there on the news...who exactly is behind this "revolution"? Are their nefarious things happening in the background? I see that our current regime is supporting their current regime, or is that just lip service? With the domino effect happening across the middle east just exactly who/m is taking control of these nations? And what will it mean to mean to me and my family in the coming days/weeks/months/years?

I think it can get VERY ugly.

These protests aren't only happening in Egypt. Tunisia toppled theirs the other day and were only too happy to welcome back the Islamics who were in exile.

Algeria's been a Muslim Brotherhood stronghold for over 20 years and only the army has stopped them from taking power.

We have Egypt of course.

Tens of thousands are protesting in Yemen to overthrow their govt.

Hamas is already Islamic and they're in the heart of Israel.

Lebanon is VERY close to being islamic.

Bottom line? We could see a Muslim Caliphate from western Africa to Iran and beyond.

That's worst case of course. But the squeaky wheel gets the grease and the Islamics are the squeaky wheels in the Mid-East. And they got the weapons and explosives.

Godspeed

I remember those gas lines as well—also, standing in line for 4 lb bags of sugar with my mother somewhere in there...crazy times. Would NOT like to see deja vu!

Speaking of which, has anyone heard from Zahi Hawass, Curator of Egyptian Antiquities or whatever? I have always enjoyed his enthusiasm concerning ancient Egypt and was relieved to hear that the army had control of the big museum in Cairo...

Never mind, found this:

“Nine men broke into the Egyptian Museum in the early hours of yesterday, taking advantage of damage caused to the building’s security by a fire in the neighbouring headquarters of the ruling National Democratic Party.

They were caught by police and a crowd of civilians while carrying out the skulls of two mummies and two statues estimated to be more than 2,000 years old.

One statue, believed to be of Tutankhamun, was broken into two pieces by the thieves, although officials said they hoped to be able to repair it.

Zahi Hawass, chairman of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said: ‘They tried to attack and rob from the showcases of King Tut, but they failed. These people are criminals, they are not true Egyptians. The nine men were caught carrying skulls and two statues, one of which was broken. But the army are now guarding the museum and all the museums are now safe.’

“Israel may have to attack Egypt to take out it its Air Force before attacking Iran with conventional weapons. Also we have given Egypt our Abrahms Tanks. Israel would have a tough time stopping them in a coordinated Arab/Muslim attack. If Egypt goes Islamic Nuclear War in the are is likely. Israel can not afford to let Egypt go Islamic.”

Just Egypt alone would give Israel a run for her money in the air and on the ground. Israel would most likely use short range tactical nukes to stop an armored advance, if they don’t own the air.

If things go this far......Pakistan or Iran? could launch nuclear missiles against Israel. Knowing Obama will stay out of the fight.

There’s nothing to worry about here folks ;) /s

You mean like......where the Halibut feeds?

Hey! Hey! Halibut are really tasty and worth a pretty penny to the commercial longliners who fish them for your dining pleasure. Now ratfish are a differnt story...

While the mullas in iran are outwardly cheering, they are scared to death that a 2nd democratic front might open in the ME

Which is why they have planted ElBaridi who is openly prasing the MB, but he is the only well known Egyptian likely to be on any putative ballot.

There are no good choices. What the kids want is immaterial. American kids loved Our Dear Leader - look where that got us. The Egyptian kids’ choice is even worse.

When (not if) Egypt falls:

1. 50% chance of a major run on the US equities market, leading to a rise in the Euro and massive fall on the dollar

2. Strong desire by other nations to buy their LNG and Oil in anything but dollars

3. High risk of shipments through Suez canal ... including up to 25% of Europe’s energy. 6000 extra miles to move that energy around Africa, which means there are not enough tankers in the world to offset the impact.

4. Growing, massive distaste for the US. We have a weak man-child running the country, and everyone knows it. We NEED oil from Venezuela ... and Hugo thinks Zero is a wuss. A coordinated, “protest embargo” of the US could happen this year.

Also kiss the pyramids and the Sphinx goodbye..

No tto mention all the newly minted gold bars the MB will have - Zawais will be looking for a job in London (that might be a plus).

The ramification are that many governments in the Middle East may go dopwn leaving radical Islamics in charge of the Middle east and when they attack Israel the whole place could be turned into a nuclear wasteland.

Expect India, which recently tired of the Somali pirates and put an end to most of them to not just do nothing.

Especially given their strong ties to the Jewish community and Isreal.

If memory serves me right, the gas lines of 1973 were worse than the ones of 1979.

A lot worse.

Pakistan or Iran? could launch nuclear missiles against Israel

Iran does not yet have a known working bomb warhead or working delivery system. If the Paks launch a nuke missile for any reason in any direction, they will be clobbered by the volitile Hindus.

Iran is suspected of having several tactical nukes bought on the black market, but no worries there, since rumor has it they are all in the US...

It will have zero to do with ties to Israel, and everything to do with their melinium old conflict with Islam coupled with a growing Chinese threat. Knocking down the Islamic world keeps them from having two fronts.

Have you payed zero attention to international politics regarding India over the last thirty years?

"Iran does not yet have a known working bomb warhead or working delivery system"

I'm not convinced they don't have a working bomb......their delivery system could be a boat or a truck.

"If the Paks launch a nuke missile for any reason in any direction, they will be clobbered by the volitile Hindus."

Interesting, so you think if Pakistan launches against Israel, India will want to trade nuclear strikes with Pakistan? I don't see it happening. One thing for sure is that Pakistan will cease to exist from an Israeli counter strike and hopefully Israel will be able to shoot down the Paki missiles before they find their targets.

The Only good to come out of this is that Zawi HaHass may be gone.

He has kept to tight a lid on real archeology for way too long.

He is a Flat Earth believer with Egyptology in my mind.

At least with the Radicals the _resident has helped put in place, they will probably ban cameras.

From what I read years ago, how true this is, I don’t know but Israel has a defense of last resort, something they call “The Goliath Option’’. This is a kind of nuclear Massada. If it looks like they’re surrounded by the Arabs, at war with them and it’s looking like the end for Israel, they yank the chain on all their nukes and take everyone of the Muzzies to Hell with them.. Again, how true this is I don’t know. I do know the Israels are watching this real close.
