Javier Bardem is apparently the strong contender to play Roland Deshain in "The Dark Tower". After he was mentioned as frontrunner along with Viggo Mortensen, he is now reported to have been officially offered the lead role. You should give the rest of the series a shot-provided you have the time.

I still think Wizard & Glass is the most well-written book in the series, even though it has its critics.

The funny thing is that I can't think of a another literary saga that I really got sucked into, with the exception of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The Stand featured Gary Sinise as Stu Redmon, just months before the release of Forrest Gump. The actor playing Tom Cullen was *perfect!* My only complaint was that Stephen King's "cameo" part kept showing up in every other scene.

Stephen King's personal involvement, either in writing the script, producing or acting, usually ruins any adaptation.

He destroyed The Shining, which was one of Stanley Kubrick's greatest works, IMO.

Jason Isaacs would be my first choice for Roland. He already has the "bombardier blue eyes."

The Langoliers was dreadful

The guy who played the pilot (David Morse) was pretty good.

I didn’t even like Bronson Pinchot. That tells you all you need to know about that movie.
