Lt. Col. Bruce Crandall, who received the Medal of Honor for flying 70 wounded troops out of Vietnams Ia Drang Valley in 1965. I had the honor of meeting and talking with Col. Crandall. I asked him what made him do what he did. His answer was, "I brought those boys in and I had to bring them out."
