LANCASTER, Pa. -- The School District of Lancaster is defending a plan that groups students according to their race.

In December, McCaskey East High School placed its junior class in different homerooms based on race and gender. Each class is led by a home room teacher of the same race and gender who serves as a role model.

not typical?

Explain then, please, the increasingly loony leftism of our public schools. No-weapon-tolerance policies that get little boys sent home for pictures of guns and bigger girls also sent home for nail files? And the same big girls, no questions asked if they need driven to the abortuary, but note from the parents required if they carry aspirin or Tylenol?

The no weapon policies are the result of lawsuit happy parents. Little Jimmy punches your kid and you find out that he has had an issue of guns and ammo in his locker. Guess what we get, hours of lawyers and social workers looking to see if we are the next Columbine or VT. Talk to the bean counters not the teachers.

Kid OD’s on Tylenol and gets liver damage, lawyer finds out some kid at school gave it to them. We get sued. Again not the teachers fault, go talk to the bean counters down town. I have had kids OD in my class on over the counter drugs. It is surprising what some people will take and what it will do to them.

As for nail files there is no reason to have them in school, and yes I have seen them used as weapons nasty little buggers. Might as well let boys carry straight razors.

People that blame all the problems they have with public education on teachers have not seen the issues from our side. Come and do my job for a year and then tell me how the NEA or other teacher cabal is running the schools. You would be shocked to see how little power teachers really have.

The men and women in black robes are the ones that run our schools.

The men and women in black robes are not the ones segregating Lamcaster, though.

Sorry if this seems like a rant directed at you, but it’s something I’ve wanted to say (for a long time) to the youth of America (my kids have gotten sick of hearing it - LOL)...

***********************************
LET’S TALK ABOUT DIVERSITY! Look to your left, then look to your right. Did you see the outside of two different sets of eyeballs? Those two people are DIFFERENT from you.

They may have different parents. They may have different skin color. They may have different hair or eye color. They may belong to a different gender. Maybe that person is serious, and you like to joke. Maybe that person is quiet and you are loud.

THEY ARE NOT YOU. Even if it was your twin, that person has had a different life experience from you. No matter what, the person to your left and the person to your right think a little - or a lot - different from you.

That means that you can probably learn something from that person. Probably - because most folks have something worth learning.

That also means that they probably have something they can learn from YOU.

Diversity is not measured by counting the number of occurrences in a particular category - it is measured by your willingness to learn from the people around you. YOU are the measurement of diversity, not someone else, not some roster of skin colors or genders, or anything else. YOUR attitude.
**************************************

Again, I apologize if this comes across badly.

Did they have severe discipline problems? If so this would eliminate claims of gender bias or racism when the hammer came down.

BTW, I recall the de-segregation, and the way discipline was lost for years in the public schools. This addresses that.
