there is a God
The snowstorm is here in PA too. I have all-wheel drive (Mercury) and got home with no problems. Wind is howling. Just took my time...
The Obamamobile aka “The Beast” may be bullet-proof, bomb-proof, and little-people proof, but it isn’t Hashem-proof.
My husband hasn’t made it home from DC to Bethesda yet. We just lost power but fortunately we were smart enough to put in an automatic generator last year. The generator has more than paid for itself since then. Several people in the neighborhood put theres in right after us so there’s some happy people tonight.
Feeling the local cooling from all the global warming! LOL!
Al Gore’s in town??
Left work downtown at 1:45, got home at 7, in what is normally an hour to an hour fifteen commute. Multiple factors working together made it a complete nightmare:
Federal Government closed 2 hours early and the city started emptying out around Noon.
Metro, which I ride, hit an all new high on suck factor (which is saying a lot, because they generally suck so badly). Had to wait in pedlock-level congestion to get onto trains. Then had to get off of trains that were being taken out of service due to overcrowding (if they can’t get the doors closed after a few minutes they take the train out of service) and wait for the next one. Metro was NOT running a rush-hour schedule, even tho they should have anticipated it.
Waited for nearly an hour for my commuter bus from Metro out to the VA ‘burbs, because the Dulles Toll Road was pretty much stopped at the junction with 66. Bus, when one finally arrived, took forever getting back up the Toll Road. Ok on the access lanes, but bumper-2-bumper when back on the toll lanes due to stalled/abandoned cars.
The stalled/abandoned cars were caused by the skating-rink quality of the roads. The roads were pre-treated overnight, but then it rained first and washed all the treatment away.
Near whiteout level conditions from the heavy, wet, clumping snow blowing all over the place. When driving home from the commuter parking lot I use (I have a EEEVIIILLLL SUV and could handle driving through the neighborhoods just fine, since the major surface roads were jammed) I could actually see the road in front of me better with the headlights turned off.
Getting 9 inches of global warming here in PA.
How could he get stuck - Doesn’t he ride the bus and the subway or the Amtrak bullet train?
Its Sarah Palins fault.
A little gift from Alaska.
Does anyone else have the feeling that God isn’t impressed with the “global warming” hysteria?
