I agree. The line about 2 years sober was delivered TOO convincingly. I was once a cocaine smoker myself (freebase) and I know the lifestyle. I am one of the lucky ones, who finally got out with the help of HP and 12 Steps.
I used to be addicted to pistachio nuts but I quit my habit by weening myself off it with the nut version of methadone-—cashew nuts.
What is HP?
When I first got sober we had a guy in and out of meetings who was a lot like Ted...I promptly told my sponsor we should do this or that for him (I knew EVERYTHING back then!) ..and she said something I’ve always remembered:
“Sometimes you have to love them enough to let them die”...it took me a good many years to understand what that means.

Read the sad story about pitcher Steve Howe who would have had a career fit for the Hall of Fame but for his addictions and was given something like four or five “second chances.”
