What the libs can't control they want to ban. Sorry, many things are beyond our control, loons and lawbreakers among them. To paraphrase the old saying, ‘Control what you can, accept what you can't and have the wisdom to know the difference.’

As a retired chief warrant officer I have known lots of colonels. Most are decent honorable officers but remember that in the military when a problem is identified, it is instinctively dealt with as a mission with an objective and an after action report to follow with command emphasis throughout and failure is not an option.

I’ve also known retired colonels who took jobs in county and local government. They enthusiastically search out problem areas, propose solutions, and then run hard aground on the snail’s pace of elected officialdom, which the retired officers then tend to view as corrupt.

Centralization of authority is generally viewed with favor as it is what these officers knew for their entire careers. Not justifying what this Air Force retiree is proposing nor questioning his right to do so, but IMO he is the product of his longtime professional environment.

Just sayin’. Anyway, this retired CW4 is what most warrants are in the military: independent minded and often working outside the chain of command to accomplish the mission.

“Sir, I have a handle on it, just let me get it done, and I’ll keep you informed.”

More in line with the spirit of the 2nd Amendment if I may say so.

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.

THOMAS JEFFERSON, letter to Colonel Smith, Nov. 13, 1787

From one retired Air Force Colonel to another: Remember that oath we took to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America? What kind of fantasy land do you live in?
I do not want to be one of those in the category you mentioned where my killer gets the death sentence. I would much rather impose the death sentence myself when the bastard breaks into my house and tries to rape my wife and kill me. We served to defend the people and freedoms of our great country. And now you are advocating we do away with one of the most important amendments in the Constitution? Don’t you think there is a reason our forefathers made it the second amendment right after freeodm of speech? Wake up Colonel!

I don’t care if this guy served with General Patton. He is an idiot. Lots of idiots served in the military. John Kerry comes to mind.

My favorite part of the article is where Comrade Greene tells us to use the threat of force to scare an attacker. Welcome to Metro Atlanta, home of the illegal hispanic gangbanger, drug trader paradise and crime central. Waving a tire iron at a hopped up meth head and his homies kicking down your front door is just not going to do it Frank. But you know what will? A brand new Keltec PMR 30. The 30 is for the 30 round clip it holds. You keep your threat of force and I’ll hang on to my PMR 30 thank you very much. Jackwagon!!!

The article author is mistaken if he thinks that repealing the 2nd amendment will take away the right to keep and bear arms. The constitution doesn't grant rights, it simply enumerated what the government can and, in the case of the BOR, can't do. Even without the 2nd amendment the right to keep and bear arms would still exist. It existed in all men before the constitution and will exist no matter what happens to the USA.

It's good that quislings are identifying themselves. Take note of who they are. These are the people who will betray you and your family. They have no regard for your rights.

Perhaps this loon would also be happy if we were to repeal the FIRST amendment. That would make the “hate speech” supposedly responsible for the crime in the first place, illegal!!! Rush, Savage, Palin and all the people at FOX would be in prison and Loughner would be a sane, productive member of society, right!

Bravo, Colonel! Let’s get rid of that pesky 5th Amendment too. It is a huge inconvenience to police and prosecutors who never make mistakes, never pursue ‘justice’ for political ends and who have our best interests at heart - well that and a mountain of cash to be extracted from the populace under the rubric of safety, court costs, fines, etc.

After all, if you have nothing to hide why worry about protection against self-incrimination?

Following this logic, the FF couldn't envision any type of high speed printing, therefore it is OK for the govt. to limit printing to a manual press.

Changing the 2nd amendment won’t stop people like him - but it will stop US from protecting ourselves FROM people like him.

Absolutely! I seem to remember reading last week that the gun crime in DC has gone down, since legal gun ownership was finally allowed. Criminals are less likely to prey on ordinary folks, if they're unsure whether or not those folks are armed for self-defense.
