It is not just a ledger entry.
The certificate has to originate from the hospital.
How else would they have the signature of doctor and mother?
Does one think that they go down to the county registrar to sign it?
I think not !!!
The birth certificate is sent to the county only to be registered.
For those who have not seen one, this is a Hawaiian birth certificate...pretty much like mine from Tennessee.

Any **real** birth certificate has a paper trail that starts in the delivery room.
I failed to mention...
Notice that the county registration date is four days AFTER the birth.
In other words, it is a batch process.
The hospital sends in the COLB when they have enough at one time, or the county has a delay in processing them.
If I am wrong, I welcome anyone to correct me.
