Do they have Lion farms? Lion-farm hands, Lion Wrestlers and Wranglers?
Eating animals that eat meat is dangerous, right? (I mean nasty bacteria possibility wise)

The market is actually for other parts of the lion... testicles, gall bladder, eyes, etc. for ‘alternative medicine.’ Mostly China, but other parts of Asia are big on it too. The meat is a byproduct/leftover.
I don’t see anything wrong with eating lion meat, philosphically, but I can’t imagine that it would taste very good. I’d think it would be stringy, tough and gamey, and too lean. One taco is likely as much as these folk will ever want to have. Though... I’m curious to hear their comments on it.
The cat would eat you, if it had the chance. (And no need for “Secret Sauce.”)

Many cats even the big ones we all love on National Geographic have to be managed like Elephants and Rhinos etc.
I prefer to eat herbivores but in a pinch I’d eat 4 legged feline.
Here’s an article about the other Arizona restaurant back in June - traced the Lion meat to a butcher shop in Illinois that buys meat from someone who buys animals for skins/fur and sells the rest.

Lions don’t take offense, they’re cool.
If Lions were good to eat and were farmed for their meat then they would be as sucessful a species as the Cow. They certainly wouldn’t be endangered.
From that article, I would wager they’re buying old circus animals and butchering them.

Well... I said circus animal, but I should have bene broader. Privately owned animals being butchered. Quite often, rich idiots will get exotic animals like big cats as pets. This usually lasts a couple of years; once they’re no longer cubs, the owner decides they’ve made a terrible mistake and is often quite desperate to dispose of the (often illegal) animal.
