A joke explained is a joke ruined, but it's a reference to "Young Frankenstein" where the tiny, little girl is playing with the monster, tossing flowers into a well, and she asks him, "What shall we throw in the well next?"
“That’s FRAHNK-en-STEEN.”
Yes! IT *** COULD *** WORK!!!!!
And it’s EYE-gor.
Abby Normal?
Sedagive?????
It’s amazing what I remember from 37 years ago, but I forget to take out the trash.
Omigosh! How could I not have remembered “Young Frankenstein”? That was one of Mel Brooks best, though I still love “Blazing Saddles” as my favorite. The song, “Springtime for Hitler” from “The Producers” is a fav, too, as is the movie.
I haven’t seen those movies in a very long time. I need to watch them again.
Then, there’s “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”...
DO NOT get me started.
And you left off “Silent Movie.”
[mouths] “You stupid son of a b****!”
[subtitle] “You bad boy!”
I ROFLMAO.
“Blazing Saddles” — RIP Cleavon Little and Madeline Kahn, both gone too soon.
We’re Python fans too, and we have books, movies, and TV shows. Do you have “The Rutles?”
See? You got me started. Your fault. ;-)
Oh, yeah! “Silent Movie! Loved it, and still love it! As I said, I’ve got to watch them again.
I’ve enjoyed “The Rutles”...especially since I was a huge Beatles fan when I was prepubescent, which is just a way of saying that I’m not older than dirt yet. ;o)
I was very fortunate to see the original casting of “Spamalot” in London at the Palace Theatre. They had a touring company in the USA. Were you able to see it?
If not, just imagine a live company doing a MUSICAL of “The Holy Grail”.
“Bring out your dead”
“Bring out your dead”
“I’m not dead, yet.” lol
“T’is a flesh wound.” lol
And some of the best music written for a play...not to mention the script. It was a tad different from the movie, but they still had cow throwing. lol
I have the T-shirt that says “Fetchez la vache!” with tossed cows.
One of the very best evenings of my life!
Hubby and I have been watching four to six movies a week, every week, for about 38 years now. Even more when we’re on vacation.
We eject leftist trash that occasionally sneaks through our vetting process, and we buy the ones we want to watch again. The last movies we bought were “UP,” “Media Matters,” “Warlords,” and “Suck.”
We don’t have cable, satellite, or antenna reception, so if we want to watch a TV show, we buy it. We’re watching “Paladin,” “Stargate SG-1,” “Deep Space 9,” “Doctor Who,” “House,” and “The Middleman.” We’re waiting for “True Blood” and the last season of “Heroes” right now.
We do love the movies.
I took the grands to see “Up”, but haven’t seen the other movies you mentioned. We did see “True Grit” at the “movie house” (lol) last weekend, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better remake. That was quite a brave undertaking for Beau Bridges. I didn’t like the ending, though...it was sad, but very realistic.
I love “House”! I mostly watch cable series, like “Royal Pains”, “White Collar”, etc.
They are better than most network series, and the only network series I watch is “Castle”.
