Just from a cursory reading of the headline, it's a laugher. Unless we all stop breathing, there won't be a "zero CO2" ever.

I'm guessing, without viewing, he's speaking of emissions from factories and other equipment. However, the emissions from fuel cell vehicles can be worse, despite the fact it's mostly water vapor. Any large scale introduction of a substance will have an impact.

Purely electric vehicles need the power from somewhere. Solar, at this time, requires a large footprint, materials, and water supply. Not exactly green.

Well, I managed to force myself to listen to the clip. And while he says “near zero” a couple of times he slips and says “zero.”

Man’s contribution to the greenhouse effect through his production of CO2 in all his activities is

0.117%.

That’s near enough to zero to have already achieved his goal.

Wouldn’t all plants on earth die without CO2?

And what produces the oxygen that we breath?

His logic is flawed - making people healthier with vaccination and better health care is going to increase populations because life spans will increase meaning their are more people for a longer amount of time.
