"Representive Johnson of Texas" I missed that one. A few months ago, when Selective Service legislation was going into effect, LBJ made a list of reps who were of draftable age and were required to register. I believe Gore the Elder was also among that group.

By the way - Isn’t the Times being helpful by printing the photo and description of the German long-range bomber (pg. 7)? This is the day after Secretary of War Stimson’s testimony to the House Foreign Affairs committee warning of possible invasion by air of the United States if Lend-Lease (or Lease-Lend, depending) isn’t passed promptly.
