Here’s a line that’s surely going to draw gasps ...

“I haven’t even seen ‘The Tourist,’” Gervais said. “Who has? There’s this ridiculous rumor going around that the only reason ‘The Tourist’ was nominated was so that the Hollywood Foreign Press could hang out with Johnny Deppand Angelina Jolie. That’s rubbish. They also accepted bribes.”

For satire to be effective, it must have a kernel of truth in it. Looks like he had a bushel of kernels...

He introduced Bruce Willis as "Ashton Kutcher's dad".

Ow! That hurt! But, damn, it's funny, too.

I intentionally didn't watch it, but it sounds like I missed a good show!

Do you find this final joke funny...

(After thanking everyone for the show, Gervais says )...

“and of course, I thank God for making me an atheist.”

Sorry I missed it, I love bitter pointed humor delivered in a British accent on subjects that must not be spoken of by Hollywood... such as the homosexuality of scientologists Cruise and Travolta, and bad movies starring Angelina Jolie

It’s an awards show where narcissistic liberals present awards to other narcissistic liberals. If he had punched each one in the face and spit on them, it wouldn’t have been “too much”. I love the use of the word “mean-spiritied” because that’s a liberal code-word for “you are absolutely correct, but I don’t like to hear it”.

Here was the reason Robert Downey Jr. was p.o.ed :

Gervais introduced his as:

“And now Ladies and Gentlemen .... someone better known for his stays at the Betty Ford Clinic and the L.A. County Jail than for his prominent movie roles, Mr. Iron Man himself — Tony Starks, AKA, Robert Downey Jr.”

Gravais is hilarious and his no holds bar routine during the Globes was perfect. I looked forward to seeing him stroll out onto stage just to hear what he was going to say next.

GLobes are nothing more than a bunch of self fellacio.

Sounds to me like Ricky is shopping for a good ass-kicking, and at some point he just might get it...

Hahaha...I love it. In the article, someone asked, "Are we at war with England?". Um, I think you can thank Obama for that. He's the one that has alienated our allies.

I didn't even know who this Gervais was but now I think he's funny. Nice to see Hollywood have to take some of what they dish out.

None of us are surprised that they can't take it. How's it feel, guys? LOLOL

Maybe next year they’ll go with something more “high brow” and mainstream, like Adam Sandler mashing various props against his crotch before every award.

Gervais has a nasty streak, always has - part of why he’s popular in the UK and hasn’t quite gotten on in the US. In other countries the “tall poppy syndrome” earns you a load of balancing grief - in the US, stars think they’re entitled to nothing but adulation.

A lot of brit stars are fully capable of self-deprecating humor and can take a jab. In the US, our stars are too busy plotting meetings with the President and UN appointments.

Clowns should be treated as clowns, and put in their place if they think singing and dancing qualify them for greater responsibilities than entertainment.

I never watch any of this Hollywood cr*p, but it sounds like someone finally put these egomaniacs in their place. Sorry I missed it.

Frankly, I never watch these stupid award shows. They are all rigged and who cares.

But, this looked hilarious.

Seriously, what did you expect with this guy. Just look at the previews for the show they aired...he openly made fun of the award show from the start even in the promos.
