Freerepublic is stuck at 39%. Break out the wallet!
TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Free Republic Policy/Q&A
KEYWORDS: dinero; money; mullah; scratch
FR has been stuck at 39% for two days now! Why? Because donations aren't coming in!
It's time to dig into the old piggie bank to help our favorite Conservative website survive!
DONATE NOW!...please!

i agree. just hit the bank for another donatation, but yeah its kind of pathetic it is taking so long lately to get to 100%

This site has been my homepage since I originally joined on Feb.14,1998.
There is no other site like FR and the reason is....member donations pay for our bandwidth.
Jim and John may run this site but it is just as much ours as it is theirs.
We must help it survive!

Keep banning accounts of people who donated money in the past and that isn’t going to be a problem at some point? Management can run their site in whatever way they want but there are always consequences to some decisions.

The consequence is - it keeps FR the best! Only a lib would not want that. Trashing FR in anyway is trashing conservatism - God, Family, Country.

I donated too and it’s still at 39%. Shouldn’t it go up to at 40% after enough people donate?

Have one for 30+ years - I don't run my business to please others. When you have something they want, they seek you out. And they don't try to CONTROL it!
That's LIBERALISM and I don't bow or enable a controlling person.

You give the customers what they want or they go somewhere else. No $$$? No business. Tell enough of them to leave your business then you FAIL. At some point it becomes easy to convince yourself it’s all about you and not what you set out to provide. The management is free to do as it pleases as are the people who paid their money to support it. The site has value and makes a real contribution but to think that it will survive without cash flow is nuts.

YES
or they go somewhere else
Why would they?
No $$$?
Where are you getting that from? Dumb question - I said in business not volunteer.
Tell enough of them to leave your business then you FAIL.
Where are you getting that from? No where did I say I tell them to leave - I said they don't control my business.
Perhaps when you're 40 or 50 or 60 you'll be able to comprehend what you read - and not so quick to make wild assumptions about things I never said or in direct opposition to what I did say. I see it as a control issue - someone with all the answers - like your first post on this thread.

Your customers don’t control your business? Really? If not for them then you have nothing. Sure, you are responsible for managing the processes that support the creation of what they want but in the end, you work for them since they are the ones paying you. Don’t provide them what they want (for profit, not for profit doesn’t matter) and they terminate the relationship for something better.
