When I first heard about how quickly the Left jumped at the chance to blame conservatives for the AZ shootings, I thought of the Reichstag fire in Berlin in 1933 and the murder of Sergei Kirov in Leningrad in 1934. To this day, the truth about these 2 events has never completely been discovered, but in both cases, they served as pretexts for bloody purges of political opposition by totalitarian dictators.
We have no way to prove whether a similar event happened here, but IMO, there are some coincidences. How, for example, was this clearly disturbed shooter able to procure a firearm so easily? What happened to the 2nd 'person of interest'?
Maybe this sounds somewhat tin-foily, but given the way the modern Left operates it wouldn't surprise me a bit that someone may have been manipulating Loughner to create an 'event' that they'd be able to capitalize on. Last night's 'pep rally' really seemed contrived, perhaps even more so than the Wellstone memorial fiasco.
Doubtful but the left is certainly taking advantage like they perpetrated it.

I think this bunch is sharp enough to try, but not sharp enough to pull it off.
As to the second “person of interest,” he was just a cabbie getting change. I don’t know if he brought the nut with the gun or not, but he was innocent, AFAIK.
Uh, because the nitwit sheriff was too busy bashing Republicans to prosecute the perp for death threats that would have gotten him marked on a Brady check?

They certainly are pushing the “Palin, Beck and Limbaugh are the real murders” nonsense into the “conventional wisdom” universe that progressives are so fond of and with which they have been so sucessful over the years.

A 21st century ‘Reichstag fire’ will be harder to pull off because of the massive amounts of INSTANT information on the internet,talk radio and television.
The left are patient:
1)will demonize the GOP over the horrible economy in 2011-2012
2)Try to retake congress in 2012 with NO MORE Tuscon’s slogan and a very wounded congresswoman used as a political prop.
3)Once they take congress, enact fairness Doctrine and clamp down on the internet in the name of stopping the hate.
When they control the information process,Then the left can push for their Reichstag fire that they will actually create.

Agreed, The left had a prewritten script but they didn’t have anything to do with the shooting.
The shooter was a deranged nutcase. End of story. No one directed him to do anything. Although some on the left are no doubt pleased with the outcome, they did not have anything to do with it.
No need to worry. MSN now reporting he lost it after his break up with Sarah Palin.

Yes, the MSM and liberals launched right into blaming military and violent imagery used by Republicans (and ignoring any such examples of use by Democrats) to drive home the point.
I was shocked at the tone of news coverage and talking heads over the weekend. Very little discussion or remorse was shown about the deceased and the others fighting for life. Most of the discussion was about Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, violent metaphors, and only the conservatives were said to invoke such violent symbolism.
Then facts come out that this shooter was mentally deranged, non-political, and not influenced by talk radio or the political climate at all.
But the facts don’t matter to the liberals. There will be no apologies for politicizing this tragedy.
In the old "Bloom County" comic, Bill the Cat shot up the neighborhood after getting a "Dear John" letter from Jeane Kilpatrick.
This loon had been obsessed with Gabby for a while. It’s not that hard to get a gun in this country even with all the silly laws. The “person of interest” was his cab driver who talked to the cops when he found out he was the person of interest. And meanwhile there haven’t been any purges bloody or otherwise.

Overall you are likely correct but Nevada still has Sen. Harry Reid and the Senate is still in the hands of the Democrats even though Americans hated what they did.
