McCain’s German Spokesman: “It’s Also Certain That Mrs. Palin Has Summoned The Demons” (BARF ALERT)

(snip)

A recent German radio interview with Stefan Prystawik, the German press liaison for John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, would likely be yet another nail in Palin’s political coffin, should it be translated into English for mass-media consumption.

That’s what I’m about to attempt, with my high-school German and a few online translation aids. (If any readers speak or understand German, feel free to pick over this in the comments.)

Right from the get-go, the interview’s title lets you know the score: “Es ist also sicherlich so, dass Frau Palin da Geister gerufen hat”. I interpret that to mean: “It’s also certain that Mrs. Palin has summoned the demons”, or evil spirits. The subhead translates as: “While publicist Stefan M. Prystawik believes the assassination attempt on Jewish US Politician Gabrielle Giffords was an isolated event, he sees its root cause in the nation’s right-wing political trends – and American political icon Sarah Palin.”

Prystawik’s interviewer, Friedbert Meurer, starts by asking him: “Can one dismiss this act that happened in Tucson as that of a deranged man, or was it a political assassination attempt?” Prystawik’s response: “Well no, not totally. It’s already apparent that the main cause lies with the extremism and psychic (he probably meant “psychological”) instability of the perpetrator, but on the other hand it is certainly already known that the environment for such actions was first — I will not say that the environment made it possible, but at minimum it certainly diverts the thought currents of extremists towards such deeds.” Upon prodding by Meurer, Prystawik mentions “der rechte Rand” — the right edge, fringe, or wing — as being behind this environment, or “Umfeld”.

There is nothing to make of this. It is a bad translation of some Euro-trash babbling.

It means nothing but a German liason making the same conjecturing remarks without evidence towards Sarah’s implied involvement which there is none

To be fair, the importance of this interview needs to be weighted by the number of votes Germany gets in our electoral college.

Isn’t firedoglake a leftist website? Not sure why that site is being lent any credibility.

firedoglake was blaming Palin before Giffords even arrived at the hospital.

FR was not loading , but It was in one of the first stories I saw about the shooting, at least an hour before they announced they has a suspect in custody.

Yeah Loughner warned us about this! Words would be used as mind control to manipulate and incite people to make them do things!

And they say HE is nuts.

"Not sure what to make of this"

What I mae of it is the the left, while not actually wanting civil war is anxious to push the envelope even further.

What they do not realize is that their obvious hypocrisy is further infuriating the right.

These silly ba$tards are actually CAUSING this historic disconnect and may push very, very large portions of the population, left and right, to think Civil War is the only answer.

Not sure what to make of this.

Yeah right Rabs.

You post something that has a negative connotation for Sarah Palin with your known dislike for her and your posting proclivities and you don't know what to make of this.

Don't be a JackAss.

Here’s what I make of it: it’s time to get rid of European measurements such as the liter and the centimeter, and usher in a new era of American Exceptionalism.

Let's see: liberals spend 8 years vilifying President George W. Bush and then Barack Hussein Obama cons just enough voters (53%) into believing he's a different kind of politician, the governs from the far left, putting our nation in jeopardy of bankruptcy with his political payoffs disguised as 'stimulus'. Obama and the Democrat-controlled congress ram through a 'health care' bill that will cost trillions and eventually force every American to purchase government health care insurance and dance to whatever tune the government plays in order to keep it. Due to Obama's insane financial policies and penchant for over-regulation of business, employers are frightened and stop hiring and expanding. Unemployment hovers near 10%.

The American people are disgusted and angry, voting Republicans into control of the House of Representatives in November, 2010. Many conservative politicians and commentators condemn Obama's policies and the Democrat party. The TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party is formed to oppose liberal policies and the president's leadership, such as it is. Now, some German political hack decides this is akin to persuading a psycho to assassinate a congresswoman and bystanders at a political event? How absurd. To even publish this nonsense on FR, a conservative website, is insulting. I know the Palin-haters are desperate but to mimic the left's vile tactics is pretty low. This entire thread should be pulled.
