Our parents grew up with lead paint all around them. It wasn’t a problem. Of course they didn’t eat paint chips or chew on the window sills.

Kind of like the old anti-Pot ads from 50+ years ago... scare tactics.

Even with Chinese junk being the norm, kids today are generally exposed to a LOT less Lead than most adults on FreeRepublic.

Yet the gubmint must still be in everyone’s business...

Funny how it seems that more and more kids are showing up with many of the so-called “disabilities” that use to be credited to lead...

The EPA lead laws just tightened up big time a couple of months ago - most handymen and contractors can’t touch much in a pre-70’s house without first being “newly” lead certified.

I suspect that what’s going on is the development of new, more intensive, testing methods which pick up parts per TRILLION instead of the prior test which picked up parts per MILLION. NOW, there’s a new opportunity for liberal groups to scream bloody murder that they need lots more of Joe 6 pack’s money to protect the chilluns.

Same old libs, same old scam, nothing new here folks.

It’s an insane over-reach. Lead paint is simply not a serious risk. I doubt that it ever was. I don’t recall ever being tempted to chew on windowsills as a child, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any child do that.
