Glenn Beck may be one of the hottest talk show hosts in the country, but he apparently left New York's WOR cold.
WOR (710 AM), one of the city's two biggest talk radio stations, said this morning it is dropping Beck's syndicated show as of Jan. 17 and replacing him with a familiar New York name: Mike Gallagher.

This doesn’t smell quite right - Beck isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t see that many folks who won’t listen to Beck that will listen to Gallagher.
Beck and Hannity are also off WPHT 1210 Philadelphia in favor of local hosts
TRN wins again!!!!!!!!!!!
ugh
Mike G profits from the campaign against Beck.
I believe Gallagher is syndicated by Salem Communications, and I think they own WNYM 970. Currently he is on 9 pm on 970 acc to their site

(Sliwa, Bennett, D. Miller, D. Praeger, Medved, Hewitt,
Gallagher, Gibson)
I don’t listen to WOR because their signal sux. Wonder if that could explain their ratings. I would choose Beck over Crummy if I could, and I would choose Savage over Levin. Instead, I listen to sports talk or WABC because those are the only powerful signals on the dial.
Beck belongs on WABC, doesn’t he?
No doubt a champagne in paper cups party is being held in the Hut along with a celebratory call to the FCC to keep up the heat and the good work.
I’ve always found Beck’s radio show to be terribly lacking. He’s FAR better on TV, IMO.

Beck might just be leaving “standard/regular” radio on his own.
He has stated very strongly that there will be *BIG* and very surprising
changes coming to him and his companies/businesses in 2011/2012.
Getting out of radio might just be one of those big changes
that he is setting out to make.
Doing his syndicated radio show is a big drain on him and his
time. When they added up everything that he has going on and
plans to have going on with future projects in 2011 AND 2012..dropping
the “standard/regular” radio show might’ve seemed like an odd option
but also a good/correct option.
Beck and his audience are all about “new media”..and the fact is
that he simply doesn’t need his radio show to do the things that
he seeks to get done...these days there are many other options
available.
Doing his radio show certainly has to involve more negatives than
postives for him these days...in terms of time, effort and just
about everything else.
If you tie in all of the older and newer advertiser boycott campaigns
that are targeted at his various shows...it might just make better business
sense to take his strongest sponsors and his audience and to try and
make the best of it all in some other ways.
Beck is now in a postion to take advantage of many interesting
opportunities and options.
Maybe Beck is going to use some of the tactics of “radical change”
to/for his own benefit.
Bigger...”brander”...better.....Beck 2012.
We get Glenn Beck here. The talk show lineup on the local major conservative talk station is very strong. There are 3 local hosts who are amazing (one even fills in for Rush quite regularly). Glenn Beck just doesn’t fit in very well. He is so apocalyptic at times, it’s unnerving. I find myself turning off the radio during the Beck show. I have been in touch with the station manager asking him to consider non-renewal of the Beck show or moving it to an earlier or later time slot that won’t disrupt the rest of the schedule. He is definitely considering something as he gets a lot of comments from unhappy listeners.
You're right. I suspect that there is a bit of "information engineering" going on here. "You'll only listen to that which we feel is good for you" type thinking.
Since when? I’m listening to Beck on PHT right now.
See, now, I like that. It's overkill on the clown posse routine with his two buddies that makes me switch the channel.
The first time I had ever heard Gallager was when I was visiting my folks during Thanksgiving several years ago. The local station was airing his show and he was SUPPORTING Janet Reno in removal of Elien Gonzalez from his American relatives. I refuse to ever listen to or support this Marxist tool.
Maybe but is there room for him there? Sched acc to their site:
>>12:00AM 1:00AM The John Batchelor Show
1:00AM 5:00AM Doug McIntyres Red Eye Radio
5:00AM 6:00AM Doug McIntyre
6:00AM 10:00AM Imus In The Morning
10:00AM 12:00PM Joe Crummey
12:00PM 3:00PM Rush Limbaugh
3:00PM 6:00PM Sean Hannity
6:00PM 9:00PM Mark Levin
9:00PM 12:00AM The John Batchelor Show
The truth about our situation in this country certainly can be unnerving...just change the station, and all will be well. La-la-la...I can't hear you...
Oops.
Confused with Rusty Humphries....
My bad.
