Glenn Beck may be one of the hottest talk show hosts in the country, but he apparently left New York's WOR cold.
WOR (710 AM), one of the city's two biggest talk radio stations, said this morning it is dropping Beck's syndicated show as of Jan. 17 and replacing him with a familiar New York name: Mike Gallagher.

That 10-12 timeslot sucks, it’s no wonder they can’t afford Beck. The 9-10 is where the profit comes from.
Unless they change their format like they did here in DC, a two hour show will never last. We had a local talker that does a great job but they fiddled with extending the morning drive to 10am and had Joe and Mika until Rush and it didn’t work so they brought him back.
I've wondered about that. There are small areas I drive through where their signal noticeably distorts, maybe for a hundred feet of roadway. It's always in the same places, and it doesn't happen with the other AM stations that I listen to.

I usually hear Gallagher because I’m waiting for Prager’s show to start.
It hasn’t really been a problem for me since Bob Grant left WOR :) Truly, I wish I could listen to Savage instead of Levin though. Levin is useless to me. Savage is a maniac, but I think he’s pretty entertaining sometimes. He’s a raconteur.

Savage may be a kook, but he is the only one who talks about what matters, as he says, “Borders, Language, Culture”, and talks about the threat of Islamo-Fascism.

You should listen to Jerry Doyle. He has his finger on the pulse of America’s Economic Condition more than any other host I have heard and he is entertaining too.

Second that. I catch it on the internet each evening.
1) Way too much self promotion. When I listen to an hour of his show, it breaks out as follows:
15 minutes of great monologue
15 minutes of advertisements
10 minutes of Glenn talking about whatever new book he has out that month
10 minutes of Glenn talking about whatever crappy stage show he has out
10 minutes of Glenn teasing you about how blown away you'll be if you tune in to watch his tv show later in the day.
2) Glenn should cut down on the frivolous banter with his two cohorts. It's a sad waste of time.
3) The intro to his show lasts way too long. You can switch to a different station and catch some news, come back to Glenn's show and the intro's still playing.
4) Someone needs to take Glenn aside and let him know he isn't even slightly funny and shouldn't try to be.
That's the damn truth! I've actually changed stations during the intro before. lol He has to have the WORST intro music in all of talk radio too, and it lasts longer than when Hannity used to play TWO intro songs on his show.
Yep, absent all the conspiracy theories about Beck being treated unfairly, he has steadily moved from conservative politics to Faith, Hope, and Charity (translate - here's more of my Mormon beliefs) over the past six months. I, for one, don't care for him on TV or radio anymore, and I use to record the TV show every day.
I truly think Beck could take a lesson from the 112th congress ...get back to the basics. Said differently, he would do well to get back on the horse that brought him to town in the first place.

If not Rusty, then either Mike Church or Andrew Wilkow. On the other hand, I already listen to them on Sirius satellite radio.
Unless Imus hangs up the hat for good, there’s no room for Beck at WABC.
Yeah, the jokes Hannity giggles about are inside jokes that the listener is unaware of. He’ll giggle about something they talked about at a staff meeting or something. I’ve also notice he tends to talk to female callers over anyone else, and then he reminds everyone that the evil, mouthbreathing liberals are his “friends”.
The reason his TV show is slightly different than the radio show is because there’s a slightly different audience (dare I say more mature) watching Fox News than are listening to his radio show. The demographic who listens to his radio show are the same demographic who watch Red Eye.
Beck targets the paranoid freaks who think Al-Qaeda is lurking under a can of Folgers at Wal-Mart.
