I cannot stand those sideline reporter-ettes. They add nothing to the game and blabber on and on about things that are tangential to the game. The only reason they got the job is affirmitive action. Whenever possible, I turn down the volume of the TV and listen to the game on the radio.
I don’t think it was affirmative action. I think it was the same effect that gets a pretty chick on every newscast. If we’ve got to watch someone talk to us about stuff we already know, don’t want to hear, or are going to hear anyway ... might as well be a cute blonde with a nice rack.

If I depended on a pay check from the NFL or a network I would avoid these women like the plague.
While I absolutely agree with you regarding the women on the sidelines (quota), most of the males are blithering idiots too. My favorite lines are: “a play you have to make”, “the team with the most points will win this one”, he is one fine specimen”, “that is a pure athlete”...blah blah blah I could repeat idiotic lines too, or read facts fed to me by a computer handout. Very few of the current commentators have enough functioning brain cells
Agree ... NFL season ticket holder and when I attend games I see them wandering around on the sidelines. They look completely out of sync with the surroundings ... even more so than when you see them on TV.
Erin Andrews is an exception. She is hot, dresses appropriately, knows the game, and asks good questions. Never see a coach with a “this girl is stupid” look on his face.
Bet she will not ask Chip Kelly a stupid question at half-time next week like most of the guys do.
My favorite Chip Kelly comment was when asked about defensive adjustments at half-time, replied, “I have no idea, I coach the offense “
I agree whole-heartedly, as does my older brother. You really have to play the game to understand, not just X's and O's, but the physical demands, the punishment, the speed and quickness of the game, the finesse of the skill positions, etc. The sideline babes are as useless as cheerleaders to the game itself, and their questions and comments routinely are empty and clearly lack understanding.
I agree with you. For what it's worth, I can't even stand any of the sideline interviews or post game interviews for that matter......
