According to a report from Bloomberg Businessweek on Wednesday, Apple will hold a special event by Valentines Day to introduce a new iPhone compatible with the Verizon Wireless network. The report mirrors one of two theories posed by BGR Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Geller earlier this month. Businessweek goes on to suggest that while the launch of an iPhone for Verizon Wireless could have a sizable impact on AT&Ts business, it will not be the death blow many have speculated. Even if AT&T loses as many as 6 million subscribers as a result of Verizons iPhone launch, Businessweek postulates, the lost revenue will only amount to 4.8% of the carriers projected 2011 sales.

I'm waiting patiently.
Apple ping.
I don’t know enough to comment on the Iphone, but I am extremely happy with my Verizon Droid-X.
Love my Verizon LG Ally - big step over my old Blackberry Curve. Verizon’s top notch...
If it weren’t for AT&T and their network in my locale, I’d have had an iPhone by now.
What made you pick the Droid X over the Incredible ?
Those seem to be the best android phones on VZW at the moment.
I may be tempted to try an iPhone if it is on Verizon, until then, I’m happy with my Droid.
if you’ve got an iPod Touch, you’ve got everything the iPhone can do, minus the phone part... I like my iPod Touch.
My silly husband plans to buy one. No thanks. I’ll keep my rooted droid x until a 4g android phone comes out. Don’t need a nanny phone.
I have an itouch that has sat unused after my droid x purchase. Loved the itouch previous to the droidx purchase.
I jumped ship from Verizon after 13 years of exception service. My thought was simple - the phones Verizon had (at that time) were horrible.
The iPhone totally rocks. I mean, if you have never played with an iPhone before - you will be blown away. Easy to use, incredably versatile, 500,000+ applications.
But, I had no idea how inept, arrogant and totally irresponsible AT&T was. The coverage that Verizon has advertized - is quite literally pretty honest and accurate. For the most part, if you are in a Red zone, you have pretty good coverage. I live in Utah, and most people out in the Rockies who ski, have complete Verizon coverage well out into the mountains.
However, I work on a Military Base - with a population of over 25,000 people in a 5 mile radious. My coverage, on I-15 or on base, or even at a local Mall is pathetic. I get more dropped calls in any given WEEK than I got in the entire 13 years with Verizon. I truly wish I was exaggerating. My phone is USELESS at my office, it’s a pretty brick. Verizon, Sprint, T-Moble phones all work well - but AT&T cannot cover an area between Salt Lake City, and Ogden UT.
I cannot get reliable data coverage at the Salt Lake INTERNATIONAL Airport!!! For a ‘freakin’ Delta hub; with International flights leaving hourly!! Good God, what imbecile at AT&T can’t figure out that people leaving or getting on a plane at an International Airport may need Data Coverage for their phone - which they are paying for every month.
It’s very common to see a businessman with an iPhone and a Verizon Data Connection for their laptop. $65/month with Verizon for a data plan - because they cannot depend upon the data plan they are forced to purchase from AT&T.
So, when Verizon gets the iPhone - I will sell my iPhone4 on EBay, and gladly give $350 to AT&T to terminate my contract. Then, I’ll get the iPhone on Verizon.
The iPhone is fantastic, it’s truly generations better than any other phone on the market. But, AT&T is exactly as Consumer Reports reported - the WORST cell phone provider in the USA.
Well, you don’t have the cameras and video [and FaceTime] ... but almost everything.
>>>Well, you dont have the cameras and video [and FaceTime] ... but almost everything.
Latest version of the Touch has camera & FaceTime...
I read an article a few weeks ago saying the IPhone would be released right after Christmas, now its going to be released after Valentine’s Day..like I said back then, I’ll believe it when I see it
No Thanks. I’ll keep my B-berry Curve.
>>>Ill believe it when I see it
I’l believe it when I got one in my hands and it’s mine to keep :)
>>>No Thanks. Ill keep my B-berry Curve.
I’ll be replacing a BB Tour. Damn scroll-ball.
Cool, was not aware. I’m trying to sell mine on eBay as I have the iPhoen 4. :)
I would actually be happy with the Incredible, but my eyes aren't what they used to be and the X had the biggest screen.
I had the Blackberry Tour and was wholly unhappy with it.
