I should’ve taken that 2 to 1 bet.
Iowa was supposed to flop big time...

“He broke Shonn Greene’s record of 194 yards in the 1959 Rose Bowl game.”

Talk about endurance, Shonn Greene is still the starting RB for the Eagles.

Me too! Great they got the win after all the off-field crap that happened to them this year.

Vandenberg, McNutt, and Coker should be fun to watch next year.

Sometimes I hate Iowa when they beat Penn State, but I have to like them because it’s like watching the Stillers with their uniforms.

As a Jayhawk spending a lot of my time in the heart of Mizzou country I take a lot of abuse. Like you I expected the big headliners sidelined from the Iowa team to really knock down their chances with Missouri who has had a great season.

Iowa players showed real backbone to dig down and keep in the game and win it in the end. They should make this down as a big win.

I will not brow-beat any of the Tigers, the KU football program was too dismal to allow for that sort of smugness, but ROUNDBALL season is now fully underway and I will have my chances to gloat.

The best part is Clayborn is sitting back and laughing at Adam Robinson’s getting arrested for drugs. Adam challenged Adrian to a fight (rumor from hospital residents working for the team) and got his butt kicked......

The same thing happened on January 1, 2005 in the Capitol One Bowl. Iowa beat another Tiger team from LSU in the very last minute with a hail mary throw into the end zone.

About a month later, I was calling on an engineer at a big paper mill in Arkansas. The guy had a large LSU Tiger poster on the wall behind his desk. I mentioned having seen the Iowa-LSU game and this uncorked a string of profanities. He finally calmed down and said, “Ya have to hand it to the Hawkeyes. Iowa played 60 minutes of football and LSU played 59... By the way, where did you go to school ?”
I-wa, I said.

I happened to note from Tuesday’s WSJ, page D6, the prediction of Iowa 23, Missouri 21.

Two of Coker’s high school teammates, a 5 star left tackle and a 4 star DT will be on a recruiting visit to Iowa the weekend of January 21st. They will get to hangout again with their buddy, now Mr. Insight.com Bowl MVP.

Dean up at Shrimp Daddy’s is going to be in a good mood all week. I bet he had a good crowd up at his place as he always runs specials on Iowa game days.

We had dinner at JJ’s Copper Pot at Laurie last night. It was packed to the walls. Generous beverages and good chow had by all.
