Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear co-stars have sparked religious outrage after dressing up in burkas on the Boxing Day special.
Clarkson and Richard Hammond decided to dress in niqabs, a form of the burka where everything but the eyes are covered, in order to disguise themselves on the road.
They also got James May in on the act when they greeted him from hospital after he fell and hit his head on rocks in the Syrian desert.

But their joke backfired after they were slammed by Muslims for mocking their religion.
Actually, I think it didn't backfire at all - it worked as intended. Go Clarkson!
I watched this episode last night, and while not among the best they've done, it was pretty good entertainment.

But the part about the nativity scene garners no attention. What a bunch whiners, these muslims. No wonder their countries suck!

Give the U.S. version a few years. It took a while for the chemistry to get as good as it is on the UK top gear.
That said, IMHO those three are one of the best comedy troupes of the last 20 years; Clarkson is a genius.

Yep, the best show on in the USA comes via BBC/America.
If anybody is still in the dark about Top Gear, then find the episode where they made the run from the Amazon River to the Pacific.
LOL .... trust me. You’ll get a kick out of it.

Jermey, Richard and James, you guys are Heros.

What about the episode where the rode around 1,000 miles up the coast of Vietnam on scooters? These guys crack me up! It’s like Monty Python meets Gumball Rally.

my favorite is still the race between Jeremy in the Bugatti Veyron and Richard and James in the Cessna from northern Italy to London...

my favorite ploy was in their US special, where they all wrote "offensive" things on their cars and drove through Alabama, where they promptly got stoned by some rednecks, and chased out of a gas station parking lot, before hurridly washing their cars off.

I hope the two december specials (middle east special being talked about here, and another USA road trip they did last week on BBC) end up getting shown soon on BBC america.
It’s just this last season that they showed us the uncut british versions of top gear (season 15). Other seasons they’ve edited, both to remove news they thought we didn’t care about, and because of copyright issues regarding guests and music.
To: Moltke
One of the best automotive programs ever. These guys are hilarious. Apparently the dopes in Hollywood never saw an episode judging by the three losers and stupid stunts the American version is reduced to. The only thing I can think of that the Brits do better, car wise, than the US.
