Help.
I just got myself a new 4th generation 32 GB iPod touch. Any suggestions for about 4-5 good apps for my new iPod?
I already plan to install the Dirty Birds game, the ESPN Radio app (since I will connect with Wi-Fi over my home network) and apps for Twitter and Facebook access (so far).
Scrabble, Shazam (although not sure Shazam will work on iPOD since it needs microphone.
Skype. Meebo, if you are a fan of instant messaging.
With wifi in your home you can use it as a replacement for a lot of the stuff you’d normally do stuck in front of the computer. Lets you move around and do other things. I use it as a phone as well.
MLB, NFL, NBA Apps
Add Freerepublic to your home screen.
Rush Limbaugh? There’s an app...
If you like radio, get the iheartradio app so you can listen to the Clear Channel owned radio stations.
IMDb
Internet Movie Database (free)

I got an ipod touch as well. Anybody know if there is a texting application?
You mean, Angry Birds?
Star Dunk
But I want apps that are reasonably useful, especially since I can communicate using a two-way 802.11g WPA2-encrypted Wi-Fi connection.
But why should I have Free Republic as my home screen on my iPod touch? I’d rather have the Bing app as my start page instead.
iHeartRadio is nice... but if you want a huge amount of stations, download TuneInRadio. Clear Channel doesn’t allow it’s stations on it. The search feature is great. 24/7 Comedy station, college stations, world wide stations, and a search function for any genre or personality you want... including Rush.
Also: Key Ring (eliminate those store reward cards); TV Guide; Drudge; TheWeatherChannel; Amazon.com; Cheap Gas!; eBay; AroundMe; AllRecipes; FoxNews; CNBC RT; Sudoku2, etc.
I’m replying to you on a 4th generation iPod Touch. It’s a beautifully wonderful device, and I can even make regular phone calls over WiFi using Google Voice, along with watching movies on Netflix.
4G iPod Touch has a built-in microphone.
