Sir Elton John and husband David Furnish have welcomed a baby boy to their family, according to US Magazine.
Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born on Christmas in California via a surrogate. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces.
"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment," John, 62, and Furnish, 48, told the magazine. "Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents."
This is the first child for the couple, who wed in 2005 after 12 years together.

No matter how hard they tried, Elton and David just could not conceive. I wonder if they consulted with a fertility expert before they decided to use a surrogate.
Little Zachary could join the Boy Scouts and when he gets a little older he could join Elton on stage as a prop. Who knows where his career could go from there.

Won’t they have to “adopt” him to get him a passport? I don’t know the rules on surrogacy...the sperm donor can be declared the father.
And last week, the State Department said they will now alter birth certificates so that you won’t have a father or mother, but two “parents”.

I can't understand why anyone in their 60's would want children other than out of selfishness......I enjoyed having my parents around while I was a grown up, these kids won't ever experience that.

Same here! I was a 3 hour a day, 5 day a week listener until he started talking about how great of a guy Elton John was and was practically gushing about having that outspoken queer as his pal. Since then I've been rather tepid about his show.
