Hello. It's early in the morning, or late at night for those of us who usually work nights. After a weekend of unhealthy and unusual eating, I have just consumed the second to the last Pepcid Complete, Walgreen's brand, in our home. The last one will be fought over between my wife and I at a later to be determined time and place. Being a sensitive husband, I may at least share half with my wife.
Yesterday, while we were visiting family out of town, my wife went to the store to get the usual supply of Pepcid Complete, either name brand or generic. She checked two local pharmacies and two local chain stores. Not a bottle in sight. In traveling back to our home from our out of town visit late last night, we tried one last attempt at our local Walgreen's Pharmacy. No more Pepcid Complete. Frustrated, we asked the local pharmacist if he could help us. To his knowledge, there shouldn't be a problem and it should be on the shelf. We walked together to examine and verified that neither the name brand or store brand was shelved nor labeled as missing. It was simply gone. The pharmacist had no explanation.
After checking online, it appears that Johnson & Johnson Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals Company has had a few bad marks against their production, as well as a "small" recall due to faulty packaging. There is no new information to be found at this time. The recall of Pepcid Complete by itself shouldn't be that strange. However, the complete and total disappearance of not only the name brand, but every other generic brand from every other store both large and small is very strange.
With all that is going in the world today, this is small beans. However...if my wife does not find a refill of chewable berry flavored Pepcid Complete, or the like, the end result may be disastrous for all.
Inquiring minds would like to know...
Gaviscon or the K-mart or Walmart store brands beat Pepcid or Zantac for me.
“My wife calls it You got drunk, and that is why I ate the whole pecan pie... And the m&m.s and that small thing that used to be our pet... “
MIne is usually due to one of those Progressive Soups. My wife says when I have a few too many I should eat something more Conservative.
That scares me. You came up with a picture of a can of soup at 4:30 in the morning.
Johnson & Johnson had had one problem after another this past year.
Don’t take any life insurance tests while taking alfalfa. We found out it will affect the blood or urine test and you won’t pass. Had a rancher in years ago. Couldn’t pass the test; but we knew he was healthy. Found out it was the hay he was dealing with.
Funny how things will affect you.
Zantac, Prilosec, Previcid. Pepsid is not as good as these.

FUBO
Well gee whiz, maybe you're not the only ones stocking up on the stuff over Christmas?
One teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and your problem will be gone in 5 minutes. Tastes nasty for a moment but worth the relief. Try it. My daughter did and she was amazed. Cheaper and better for your stomach than all those pills, etc. Indigestion/heart burn is not caused by too much acid, it is caused by too little.
Thanks for the info.
So true.....
Why are there so many indigestion/heart burn medications on the market?....
Because there are so many indigestion/heart burn medications on the market!
I haven't found Pepcid on the shelves for about 6 weeks now so I've been using the Wallgreen and CVS brands........
As a side note, I get hearburn alot, probably due to my taking the arthritis medication Celebrex. I think I'll try some of the alternative treatments mentioned here..........not too keen about the vinegar tho....LOL!
Apple cider vinegar. Farmers have known about it for centuries. You can make it yourself and it’s cheaper and works better than all those pills and chewy toys down at the pharmacy.
Also, many people would rather believe that they need a doctor, a prescription, a pill to treat their problem than believe that a simple, natural, cheap remedy exists in their kitchen cabinet. This remedy is just as simple as using ginger and water to cure nausea/upset stomach.
My daughter told me that if you’ve ever done shots, it’s no worse. Just rinse it down with a sip of water or juice to get the taste out of your mouth.
Scroll down and read the ingredients in this Amish formula.
Good luck!
I went to buy some for my father, and the pharmacist told me about the packaging recall. He also said he thought it was being re-formulated. He said it would be back in the new year. I saw some ads for it on several news websites.
